CARD FOR MY FRIEND AT WORK

I have a really sweet and dear friend at work who constantly smiles and reminds me that God's beauty abounds and His love for us is unending.  She cheers me up all the time with her loving smile and warm ways. Just when I need it most, she comes through with a smile or a card or something that I need.  This is the most recent card I made for her.
I used the NEW LACE BORDER PUNCH on this card. It's available July 1.  Just a day away.  Let me know if you would like to have it.  I have an order going in July 1st.
This is the inside of the card.  I stamped a brand NEW stamp set inside - MY FRIEND.  It also is available on July 1st.

PRETTY POSTAGE - CARD FROM RECENT CLASS

We made this card at our last class.  It was a favorite of most.  It uses the stamp set Pretty Postage and the NEW postage stamp punch!  EXCLUSIVE to SU!  The colors used are wild wasabi and blushing bride.  Even the envelope has the postage on it.
The card stock base is textured.  it really is a nice way to upgrade the card.  The ribbon coordinates with our IN COLORS.
Our motto for our stamping group is to think happy thoughts!  I love this sentiment!

This is another version of the card using the thanks stamp in the set!
This sentiment on the inside and also on the envelope is from Heard From the Heart stamp set.  I love the script.
The postage stamp punch is really cool.  Look how we made our own postage!
Oh, and here is a photo of my very good friend Sandi Haertig who made her card a birthday card.
So cool Sandi.  This set really has a lot of possibilities, but what I like the most is that you can make cool postage art for your envelopes and cards!

I forgot to pull my camera out for the last 2 classes.  You know I usually photograph those who come and then they go on my blog.  Well, at the last minute, I remembered and Sandi was still at my house, so she got photographed.  I actually took this with my iphone camera.

ANOTHER AQUARIUM MDS PAGE

We lucked out!  They did the dolphin show at the Aquarium yesterday.  They had cancelled it over the weekend because one of the calves expired.  So sad!

The show was amazing and better than I remember it from last year.  I can't believe that I got this great dolphin picture at the show.  They are really great creatures.  JP and his buddy loved the show!

This is another SU! digital page using My Digital Studio!

FABULOUS FLORETS

I designed this card for the last Remarkably Hot Retreat in May.  I went with several close friends and we did a shoebox with them and some of our downline.  It was a lot of fun and great to have organized projects to work on.  We'll be doing the same thing in October when we head back to Harrisburg again.

I used our new designer paper and some new stamp sets.  Don't you love the bright cheery colors?  And I love the large button.  Oh how I hope SU! brings those back.
Here's the inside of my card:
The stamp on the inside of the card is Ornate Blossom - one of the SU! under $10 stamps.  I stamped it with Daffodil Delight classic ink on Daffodil delight card stock!

A VISIT TO THE NATIONAL AQUARIUM - MDS SHARE

We visited the National Aquarium in Baltimore today.  So neat!  Here's a quick digital scrapbook page from the adventure! I used My Digital Studio.  The page literally took 10 minutes or less to complete.

We took the light rail to the Harbor and then walked just a few short blocks to the Aquarium.  My son and his friend were delighted to see so many great animals there.  We spent almost the entire day there.  The photo above was taken by me and I also made this digital page.  I took lots of photos, so I'll have lots of pages to create.

OLD AND NEW SU!

We are getting ready to start our NEW IDEA BOOK for SU! come July 1st!  I'm really excited about this!  The new book is just incredibly awesome (email me if you need a copy!).  I wanted to share some old and new SU! with you.

I made this card for my youngest sister Celena who is expecting her first baby any day and as I put on the card, he'll be so worth the wait!  I used some great SU! stamp sets and EMBOSSED with our new Embossing Powders.  We have them currently available in the NEW COLORS Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi.  They are so colorful.

The card base is wild wasabi layered with daffodil delight card stock.  I embossed the chair (Have a Seat), the goose (Cherish Friendship), the words (Word Play) and the baby onesie, bib, and teddybear (Baby Bundle).  The newest stamp set is Cherish Friendship.  The others on the front of this card a relatively new and are continuing into the New SU! Idea Book!  The ribbon is Peach Parfait, an in color that was introduced last July and will continue for one more year (stay tuned, because we are introducing 5 more colors July 1 that will be around for 2 years!).  I just love the seat.  You can put anything on this seat and it just calls out to you!

This is the inside of the card before I wrote a note to Celena inside.  The doctor stamp is adorable but not SU! unfortunately.

Here's my envelope.  This is where old meets new.  The old set is not quite old yet, but is on the Last Chance List and that is Jumble Alphabet.  Thankfully I took a chance on it when it first came out.  I love alphabets!  I embossed here name with the melon mambo embossing powder.  This stamp set, like most alphabet sets, stays in my collection. It's really hard for me to give up alphabets!

The NEW is the delicate doilies I embossed on the envelope in wild wasabi and blushing bride classic inks.  I think they are truly delicate and delightful.  Watch for lots of things to be done with the doilies stamp set coming July 1.

Oh, and Good Luck Celena.  I'm thinking about you and can't wait to meet my new nephew!

LAND OF THE FREE

Summer is here and 4th of July is around the corner.  In fact, tonight we went to our first Fireworks display of the season.  It was grand.  To celebrate the Birthday of the USA and the Freedom we share, as well as to commemorate and honor our military, SU! has produced this Under $10 Stamp -
Land of the Free.  It's perfect.  It embosses well also, as I have done with this card.  I can see sending this card to so many people.  I'd love to make a bunch for our military also!  You can buy this single stamp for only $8.95.  Make sure you include it on your next order!

For the Inside of the card I used a brand new not yet released stamp set called Happiest Birthday wishes. This set is going to be one of our hostess sets that you can earn.  Book a party so you can get this set early! You will only need $15 hostess dollars - so it's really achievable - and wait til you see all the sentiments that come in the set.  I also used the Jumble Alphabet for the USA.  It's retiring.  Sigh! If you don't have Jumble Alphabet yet, you can order it through June 30th!

 Happy Upcoming 4th everyone!

CRABBY?

I'm scrapbooking and loving it!  I can't believe the number of pages I'm getting done.  Haven't shown them all to you, but eventually I will.  I found a SU! scrapbook kit from 2 years ago in my stash that still had some pieces to it.  At the same time, I found this photo of JP at the Science Center.  Then an idea was born and I went with it.  I love our SU! scrapbook kits because they contain really great designer papers, textured card stock, and card stock stickers.  Everything here is SU! except for the punch I used to make the crab and the die cutter to cut out the words crabby and not me!  I put this page in a frame that you can change out your pages for display.  I'm going to take this display holder to work and put some different pages in it from time to time.  It is very inspiring to me.

If you look closely, you can see JP in front of a display crab.  Click on the picture to see it enlarged.

ALMOST$100,000 DONATED TOWARD THE NICU

This past Sunday - Father's day - we had our annual 5K run to benefit the NICU.  I'm so excited that the Foundation has raised almost $100,000 of which the proceeds will go to the NICU.  Here are some photos from the day!  I took lots of family photos but didn't want to post without letting families know so I will just post some of the team and then there is a photo of me with Denise Koch - local newscaster from WJZ in Baltimore who supports this race every year.  She is always the Emcee and she does such a phenomenal job.
I didn't get everyone, but I did get some of us.  The T shirts were donated by one of our grateful parents.  We will be selling these shirts in the NICU with 100% of the money going to the NICU!

Denise, thank you so much for coming out each year and doing such a fabulous job!
Thanks everyone who supported us this year.  My good friend Sandi Haertig also came out to the race.  She has a busy schedule but still found time to come. She took all of the photos of me in them! Thanks again!

ANOTHER ANNIVERSARY CARD

Here's another anniversary card I made.  I used a simply sent kit from the last idea book.  I love stars.  SU! is retiring the star punch!  You might still be able to get it until the end of the month, but supply is going quickly.  I used textured paper for the card stock base.  This really takes a card up a notch!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD

Oh my gosh!  My parents are married 49 years this June 23rd.  Next year we are having a big party for them just like we did for their 40th.  This is the card I made for them.

CELEBRATING THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

It's actually felt like summer here in Baltimore for the last several weeks.  It's been really hot.  Although last week we did get a little bit of a reprieve.  We had a thunderstorm a week ago Sunday and that followed with a cool spell that came down from Canada.  It was awesome.

So today is the First Day of Summer!  Time for the summer picnics, parades, pool parties and more.
The first two cards I made at my upline Janet Wakeland's home that use the SU! stamp set Sunny Fun.  This set is so cool.  I can't wait to use it on some of my scrap booking.  I have some cool photos of JP with his cousins at the pool that I need to scrap.

These flip flops are so cool.  They can be stamped all together or individually.  I love the little mini ones on the right!

Popsicles are the perfect treat for a warm summer day.  I highlighted these with the clear frames from SU!  We are using these in class tonight and on Thursday. They are still available even tho they are not in any of the current SU! catalogs.  They will be shown in the new Idea books that come out on July 1st!

You can see the highlighted portion a little closer in the photo below.
We also used some of the Brights DSP that I showcased the other day. It's great having dsp on hand in all of the SU! colors!

This third card is so cool for summer. I can't remember who designed the card, but I made it in a shoebox swap at the last Remarkably Hot Retreat!  I love the birds dancing in the bird bath.  This is from the stamp set Touch of Kindness, which is also in the summer mini book.  There is also a flower and a cat and some adorable sentiments in this set.

By the way...if you are interested in attending the Remarkably Hot Retreat in October of this year, there are 20 or less seats available.  Email me or my upline Janet Wakeland this week.  This is an awesome weekend of crafting with some of the best and most fun people I know.  This will probably sell out so act quickly to insure your spot today!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE GUEST DESIGNERS IS HERE AGAIN!

Just about all of my guest designers are my favorites.  I love to see others' work.  Today I'm featuring Lisa Chatterjee with the card that she shared on the last Remarkably Hot Retreat.  We all did shoebox cards and this was hers.  I love her combination of Big Shot techniques and stamping.  Lisa used the stamp set Printed Petals which stamps deliciously.  The colors are so vibrant.  Great job Lisa and thanks for sharing!
Lisa also used some of our new white twine!  (You have to get some of this!  It is amazing as an embellishment and all of the rage now!)  The brad is a glimmer brad by SU!

JP'S FATHER'S DAY CARD

I wanted to share JP's father's day card for my husband.  We made the origami shirt and stamped the tie as well as a few other things!

Bill wears Under Armour shirts so we tried to make the logo on this shirt.  JP told me it looked like a butterfly.  Too funny!  The ties are in the summer mini catalog and good news...they are continuing into the
new Idea Book coming out July 1st!

I'm posting the inside of this card before JP wrote in it.  JP had some private things to say to his dad, so I'm glad I snapped this photo before he wrote inside.  The sentiment is from Word Play stamp set by SU!

Here's the envelope:

A WISH FOR A HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY MDS STYLE

I wanted to share the MDS card I had printed by SU! for my dad.  I sent him a personalized card that I created digitally.  Last month SU! had a great sale on printing and I took advantage of it.  I printed cards and scrapbook pages. The pages are already inexpensive to print for the quality you get, but with the special going on, I thought "why not take advantage of it?"  Let me  tell you that the print quality is really superb!  The colors are spot on! And the cardstock they use is really nice.  The card also comes with a very good quality envelope at no extra charge.

The front of this card is actually I premade digital card that I purchased as a digital download.  I didn't like the original colors so I changed mine to more of the blue tones.  I think the original card was brown.

This is the back of the card.  The inside had some really cool things I typed and had printed. I wrote my dad
some really nice sentiments.  I'm going to keep that private for now, but here is the back of the card.  I love the all in the family digitally stamped on this card.  Not only is Moochie there, but Luigi is also.

My dad phoned me yesterday that he received the card.  He loved it!  My dad usually is very quiet and doesn't say much in regards to cards.  However, he really liked this one and made a point to let me know.  I purchased MDS for my dad so I'm hoping this will give him some incentive to do more digital creations. He does make a digital calendar of the entire family each year for us for Christmas, and he's printed his own digital cards and books and so much more.
