STAMPIN UP! HAS OUTDONE THEMSELVES WITH THIS GREAT KIT!

I'm so impressed this month with the FEBRUARY SU! MY PAPER PUMPKIN!  Do you have your subscription yet?  MY PAPER PUMPKIN is BETTER than ever.  This month's kit (which arrives mid month) was the most AWESOME kit to date!  There was so much included!

AND...GUESS WHAT?

SU! now includes the CLEAR PHOTOPOLYMER STAMPS in the kit!  There is so much in this kit that it is worth so much more than the $14.95 (+S/H) cost.  PLUS!  Who wouldn't love to receive a GIFT to themselves in the mail each month.

I get a BIG SMILE on my face when I see that  RED BOX on my counter-top when I come home from a long day at work.  I know CREATIVITY and FUN is packaged inside.

Here is what came in this month's kit and what I created with it.  Tomorrow, I'll have some additional ideas!

I forgot to put the ink spot that came with the kit in the box.  I was so excited stamping that I left it on my stamp table in my studio.  Look at all that is included.  There are stamps, embellishments, MORE of the items to make!, photo guide, and more!
There were so many extra alphabet letters that I can use with the die cut circles and scalloped circles to stamp on that I can use them for other projects (hint, come back tomorrow).
These bags are of such fantastic quality.  They hold a lot too.  I'm filled each person's bag with some heavy goodies and lots of them and the bags hold up so well. They are stronger than grocery bags!  The color is BAKED BROWN SUGAR. One of the NEW IN COLORS!
Look how many bags came with the kit.  At least 8 were in mine.  So there will be 8 lucky recipients of these bags! I've only included 5 in the photo.  When the bags are open they are pretty wide.  So you can put a lot inside each bag.
One lucky recipient is my youngest sister Celena.  It was her birthday last weekend and I have some cool things for her.  One of the things I have for her is something handmade using SU! supplies so I'll show that next week.  I stamped the scalloped circles behind each letter with the ink spot and stamps that came with this month's kit. And...I can use those over and over again!  I've been with MY PAPER PUMPKIN almost a year, so I have collected different colors of the stamps and so many cool stamps!
My mother will be another lucky recipient.  I found some really neat things for her.  Her birthday was last weekend.  We sent her flowers, but now that we will see her this weekend coming up, I have included some really neat gifts.  One is some Lavender Body Butter - natural - from Wegman's.  It's to die for, it smells so good. It comes in a container that looks like it could hold cream cheese or butter.  I should take a photo to show you.  It's an amazing product and my mother loves lavender.  I do too!

One of my dear friends will receive this bag with goodies.  There's some neat things in this bag that I think she will love and possibly some chocolate.  I think all the bags have that vitamin inside!  smile
I stamped the scalloped circles here with each of the stamps that came with the kit and alternated them.  I love these patterns.  The letters are all popped up with thick dimensionals that ARE INCLUDED!!!! with the kit.  SU! hasn't sold those in awhile.  I hope they bring those back as an option.  I love the thicker ones.  They are like having 2 in one (which is another option if you want thick dimensionals - put one on top of the other!)

The mini clothespins and the twine and the ribbon for the handles are top notch SU! quality.  The bags come with the large eyelets already attached to the bags.  A Major Coup!

So, don't wait anymore.  Sign up for MY PAPER PUMPKIN today!

ANOTHER YEAR - WISH BIG - BIRTHDAY CARD

This is the card I made for my sister Celena who had a birthday this past Sunday.  I cased a card from the SU! VINTAGE CARD SWAP I participated in this past Summer at SU!'s 25th Convention.  I watercolored the envelope and stamped a lot.  The colors include Blushing Bride and Basic Grey.  These go together very well.

USING OVERLAYS ON YOUR PICTURES AND POCKET PAGES

FROM THE SU! MDS BLOG:

Using Overlays on Your Pictures and Pocket Card Pages

I LOVE digital scrapbooking, but my true love will always be with paper. That’s why I love hybrid scrapbooking—it allows you to combine the two! The last few years I’ve been doing my scrapbooks with pocket pages because I love the simplicity of just printing a photo and sliding it in a pocket. But sometimes I want to kick my photos up a notch and that’s where My Digital Studio comes in to make it easy!
This first photo of my niece, Jocelyn is one of my favorites, but I wanted to add an overlay to it and make it a little more fun, like she is!
I created a project with a custom size of 4' x 6' (the size I planned to print my photo) and imported my photo. I used the distressed dots stamp in white and set the opacity pretty low. I used two of the same stamps, one on each side of her so that the polka dots wouldn’t cover her face. I also tilted them a little so they would outline her better. Then I filled a banner punch with some Silver Glimmer Paper and placed a stamp over it. I used a little mis-stitched stitching at the top of the banner and then sent it to my photo printer.
This year I’m doing a weekly pocket page album for each of my girls so they can remember what they did each week in 2014. I set up my custom size and then imported my photo. I did a global search in my MDS for “Tuesday,” “January,” and “seven” to set up the date and used the “This is the Good Stuff” stamp to cover up my knee that was sticking out in the corner of the photo.
On this page I wanted the photos to span both 4" x 6" pockets so I designed them on a 12" x 12" page in MDS. For the overlays in MDS I used the bracket stamp and the sentiments. All of the little sequins, rhinestones, etc. were added after I printed the page through the My Digital Studio print services. Then, I cut out the 4" strips with a width of 12" on each. I trimmed them in half at the 6" mark which made them the perfect size for my pocket pages.
This is what the page looked like when I created it in MDS.
I hope this inspires you to get creative with your photos!

SU! SPIRAL FLOWER DIE VINTAGE BIRTHDAY CARD - CARD I MADE FOR MOM

I created this card for my mother using the NEW SU! SPIRAL FLOWER DIE from the OCCASIONS catalog to make the roses.  I distressed the paper a bit to give more of a vintage feel.  I also die cut a doily from vanilla shimmer paper and embossed the base card stock with the SCRIPT embossing folder by SU!  I then used the silver ink pad to swipe silver color along the edges of the card as well as over some of the script.
The sentiment FOR MY WONDERFUL MOTHER is also SU! as well as the Happy Birthday.  I used two colors of ink that blended together and coordinated with the roses - marina mist and bermuda bay. These two colors look great together.  Banners are hot so I used the NEW BANNER FRAMELITS from the OCCASIONS catalog to die cut those.  That set of framelits has multiple banners in it and is well worth it's weight in gold.  I've used that set so many times now.

Here's another look at the card from a different angle.  Do you see the gorgeous silver taffeta ribbon I added?  It's another great find from SU! If you don't have it yet, I encourage you to put it on your next SU! order.  That's another item I have used numerous times.  The silver flourishes are not SU! I picked those up on clearance at a local craft store.

And next we have the inside of the card using the NEW ANOTHER GREAT YEAR stamp set by SU! from the OCCASIONS CATALOG.  If you click on the photo to make it larger you will see that I added crystal effects to the heart on the cupcake as well as dazzling diamonds to the frosting.
This card has dimension so I put it in a small box and mailed it to my mother who had a birthday yesterday.  It really didn't cost all that much extra and certainly my mother is more than worth it.  I padded the roses with some tissue paper and the card made it there in great shape.  If you are concerned about bulk, or even more than that - strapped for time to go to the post office, you can flatten the roses even further and just add an extra stamp or two, or just save this type of card to give to someone in person.  I love this NEW SPIRAL FLOWER DIE.  Another great offering from SU!

Note: it's Monday and I usually post an MDS project on Monday's.  This week I'll be posting the MDS project tomorrow - Tuesday.

STAMPING ON SU! MUSLIN BAGS - SWALLOWTAIL

I love these little muslin bags that SU! sells.  I always thought they were cool, but it wasn't until my friend Linda Kincaid pointed out their many uses and the ways to decorate them, that I got more interested in them.  They truly are easy to stamp on and to decorate and how adorable to give a gift in.  I made this one for my friend Patty B. who had a birthday last week.  I put a little gift inside.

For the stamping, I used the SWALLOWTAIL stamp by SU! and a few other SU! stamps.  The first photo shows a rhinestone added.
See how crisp the butterfly and the sentiments stamp?
Here's the bag before the rhinestone was added.

and here is the back side. You might as well take advantage of all of the real estate!
When you purchase these, you get so many in the pack that you will have them for so many little gifts.  With upcoming events like secretaries day and teacher appreciation, and mother's day, stock up now and start stamping and decorating.
