MY SHOEBOX CARD - CHERISH FRIENDSHIP

I cased this card from Janine Tinklenberg.  She showed how to make gingham embossed from our new SU! striped embossing folder.  Brayer one side of the stripes, run card stock through the Big Shot.  Brayer again, and turn paper quarter turn, run through Big Shot again.

The stamp set I used is Cherish Friendship for the bowl of cherries, and Happy Greetings for the inside of the card.  The card stock colors are Pool Party (brand new in color for SU!), so saffron, and very vanilla.  The ink for the gingham is pool party.

The ribbon is cherry cobbler dotted swiss scallop grosgrain.  Love it!
My card is not nearly as pretty as Janine's.  She accented hers a little more.  But...for a shoebox, it was perfect!  Everyone loved the technique.  The bowl of cherries is colored with SU! stampinwrite markers and highlighted with the white gel pen and then crystal effects.  They look so real and juicy!

Great card Janine. Thanks for sharing this tip!

NEW SUNFLOWER STAMP BY SU! and BONUS by ARLEEN

We had a great shoebox card swap for SU! demonstrators over the weekend and also celebrated a birthday.  Here is my card for Hsiao-hui demonstrating the NEW SUNFLOWER SU! stamp.  It's large and it's gorgeous.  I stamped it in More Mustard ink on whisper white card stock and mounted that to the NEW IN COLOR ISLAND INDIGO.  Notice my new polka dot brad in the center also in island indigo.

And here is my envelope featuring the sunflower again and Hsiao-hui's name using the Sweet Shoppe Upper Alphabet letters.
And, as a bonus...here is the oreo cookie cake Arleen Graham made and decorated with Pennant Parade.  Cool use of this stamp set Arleen!
Just stamp the pennants, punch them out, and attach to toothpicks!

CHRISTMAS CARD CLASS - SAMPLE 1

The Christmas card class was a huge success.  This was one of the cards that we made.  We used our new SU! triple doily punch and cut it in half and then fit it around the oval die cut (Big Shot). It's not too early to get started on Christmas!

The stamp set used is Welcome Christmas.  I also used the new lace punch by SU! and threaded some white taffeta ribbon through it.
Email me if you are interested in a Christmas card class kit.  It has everything you need to complete the cards minus the stamp sets.

CELEBRATING HSIAO-HUI! CARDS AND PARTY AND MORE!

Today the Stampin Sistah's got together to shoebox swap and to share new ideas!  It was not only a day to craft, but a day to wish our dear friend Hsiao-hui a happy birthday.  Arleen Graham made an oreo cookie cake that was awesome!  She made pennant flags to go on the cake that were prettier than candles.  We all got together for this group photo.

GUEST STAMPER - LISA CHATTERJEE

One of my dearest friends - Lisa Chatterjee - made this card using the Hello Friend set.  I've been sharing a lot of samples with this stamp set because it is one of my new favorites for this current Idea book and Catalog from SU!  The Hello is just gorgeous.  I like Lisa's use of the dazzling diamonds to highlight the Hello.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY UPLINE JANET WAKELAND

I love this new delicate doilies stamp set.  I had to use it for my birthday card for my upline Janet Wakeland.  I heat embossed on daffodil delight card stock using melon mambo and wild wasabi embossing powder.
Here's the inside of the card and after photographing it, I wrote a nice note to her inside.
Jan is the Best Upline in the whole world.  I think the world of her.
Happy Birthday dear Janet on your day - this Friday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HSIAO-HUI!

Hsiao-hui taught us how to make this card in class last week.  She chose to use the Strength and Hope stamp set that is part of the SU! campaign to help fund Breast Cancer Research.  Some monies collected in the sale of this stamp set will go to the fund.  They also are selling digital download to fund this as well, and next month we will have a class focusing on this cause.  Hsiao-hui taught this card the night before her birthday.  Since Linda Murphy and Hsiao-hui both have a birthday this month, we all sang them Happy Birthday!

Notice that we used the lace border punch here also.  And the envelope is embossed with the Big Shot! The butterfly is heat embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder on vellum.

ANOTHER HELLO FRIEND - CARD FROM CLASS LAST WEEK

I have to share a card we made in class last week.  I designed this card myself and just love this stamp set Hello Friend.  The other day I shared the night of navy card on which I used this same stamp set and embossed the hello and the flowers.  At class we stamped the hello in chocolate chip classic ink.  Next we stamped the flowers using pretty in pink.  The card stock base is also pretty in pink.  Next, we ran the card through the Big Shot with the dots embossing folder.  What a cool texture.  The last two steps were to add designer paper from the new dsp pack Pocketful of Posies, and then to add our new scallop dots grosgrain ribbon.  Inside the card (not shown) we again stamped the flowers and we also stamped the sentiment my friend.

CARD FOR MY FRIEND

A fellow demonstrator had surgery.  I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her.  This is the card I made for her using the BRAND NEW STAMP SET - MY FRIEND.  I love it.  The silhouette of the flowers and leaves is just gorgeous.  I embossed them with white embossing powder.  The HELLO is awesome also.  I just love this font and wish I could have every letter in it.

The card base is night of navy and I used the coordinating ink color on the envelope.

Here is the inside of the card.
The sentiment is from the stamp set Crosses of Hope which was new last July and the flowers are from Vintage Vogue.

My friend pulled through surgery just fine.  I continue to wish her well!

PICTURES FROM CLASS THIS PAST THURSDAY

Hsiao-hui started us off with a great card using the Strength and Hope stamp set.  In the above photo she is showing Linda Murphy how to line up her stamps and how to use the new lace punch.
Dale Trott and Cathy Stritch proudly display their finished cards.  The cards were gorgeous.

Sharon Liberto is working on her card.  The SU! rhinestones and SU! stampinwrite markers are close at hand.
A few of the projects required the Big Shot.  Linda Murphy and Pat Nuckels are embossing their cards.
I demonstrated the New In ColorsLinda Murphy was wearing a Calypso Coral top that matched the new ink pad perfectly!

Cathy Stritch is holding up one of the cards we made.  Her blouse coordinates great with the card.  This is a similar card to the one I mailed to my brother in law for his birthday.

We had a really fun time in class.  I'll post all of the cards over the next few days.  In the meantime, here are the new In Colors.
We stamped the New In Colors with the New Kiss Single stamp from the SU! main idea book.  I love this stamp. It's going to be a great addition to the backs of some envelopes and cards. It may even make it's way to the front of some of my cards!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER IN LAW

I used this Summer Splash Stamp set to create this card for my brother in law Dale!  I used new In Colors - Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Island Indigo!  I love the surf boards.  I also used the new lace punch by SU!  The Wish Big comes from the stamp set Pennant Parade.

I semi cased this card from a craft project that I saw somewhere on line.  Notice, I also added SU! rhinestones.  Happy Birthday Dale!
