IT'S NEW YEARS EVE

The new year, like a new born child,
is placed in our hands as the old year
passes away. The days and weeks to come are God's gift; they carry God's blessing.
As a blessing we welcome them.
My hope for the year ending is that all that was good in it remain with you and all that was harmful be left behind.

KATHY'S AWESOME CARD - DOUBLE FRONT CARD

Oh, this card is a real wow!  It is a Double Front card which I had not seen before yesterday.  I think it is clever!  Kathy Winland made this for our holiday demo gift/card exchange.  She used the stamp set BRIGHT HOPES from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  She also used the designer paper Holly Berry Bouquet which is going to retire on Jan. 3rd.  It's beautiful.  Here is the card.
Notice the texture and the punched edge - really cool effect.
The card opens once (above) and then again a second time (below).

Here's the view from the side.  I really LOVE this card style and will be CASEing Kathy soon!
First, I need to place a SU! order for these supplies before they are gone.  If you would like anything from the current Holiday Mini - you have only until Jan. 3rd to place that order.  Be sure to check out my website and go to SHOP NOW to check out what is on clearance as well.  I just got great 12 by 12 Valentine DSP for only $1.99.

CHRISTMAS CARD FOR THE HUBBY

This is the card I made tonight for Bill for Christmas.  I used Winter Post and Lovely as a Tree SU! stamp sets.  The card is mostly cased from Ann Schach.

The card stock is Soft Suede and Chery Cobbler, whisper white and silver Glimmer.  The DSP is Frostwood Lodge from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  You can get it and the glimmer paper until Jan. 3rd.  I LOVE the Glimmer paper - it comes in red (main idea book) and silver (mini catalog).  Maybe if we are all good for Christmas, SU! will continue the Silver past Jan.  I did emboss the background with the square lattice embossing folder and the cherry cobbler is embossed with the NEW starburst - also in the mini catalog.   Both were embossed with my SU! Big Shot.

Here's the inside of the card.

Wishing all a lovely Christmas Morning!

MDS HYBRID CHRISTMAS CARD FOR MY PARENTS

This is a card I made in My Digital Studio.  I cropped part of it and then attached it to some card stock and added a satin white bow.  We are giving it to my parents on Christmas day with their gift.  I printed on photo paper to get a nice glossy look so the photo has a tiny bright glare spot on it.

Get it now - stocking builder punch retiring

STOCKING BUILDER PUNCH
December 20, 2011
Our occasion-specific mini catalogs allow us the opportunity to share the latest seasonal products with you and we often carry over products from our mini catalogs into the following Idea Book & Catalog. This time, however, we have decided not to carry over the Stocking Builder Punch (item 124095) from the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog into the next Idea Book & Catalog. Instead we will offer other great designs in its place--not to mention a trendy, new design planned for next holiday season.

Once the current inventory of this punch has been depleted, it will no longer be available for purchase. We hope many Stampin' Up! stockings will adorn cards and brighten holiday projects this season and look forward to seeing what you create with the next seasonal design.

CHRISTMAS LODGE CARD

I am trying to complete the mailing on all of my Christmas cards. I actually pulled out Bravo Burgundy classic ink and card stock to complete this card.  This uses the Christmas Lodge stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I love this set.  The lodge, the tree, the greenery, the sentiments - all are great.

Note that I used my SU! BIG SHOT for the embossing.  The starburst and the square lattice embossing folders.  And, of course, no holiday card is complete without Dazzling Diamonds glitter!

CHRISTMAS BOX PROMOTION

I made this SU! Christmas Box for my Mother to put her Holiday Keepsakes in.  She saves all of my cards and I thought this would be perfect for her.  Right now SU! has a great promotion.  You can order the kit to make this box - everything and MORE is included in the box.  There is even a package of SU! pearls, crochet trim, and fabric with to add to the box - with the pearls to be placed around the rick rack trim - which I forgot to add (see photo at bottom of this post to see where the pearls would go).  It's a great price for a true KEEPSAKE gift.

The stamp set I used to complete my box is the Pines and Poinsettias set from the SU! Holiday Mini Catalog.  I received it FREE when Sandi Haertig signed on as my recruit.
Look at the beautiful pearl charm that is added and the button and glitter - you get a whole container of
fine gold glitter as well.  The value of this kit is really great!
This kit really has so much in it.  The papers, the ribbons, the pearls, the pearl charm.  Even the rick rack paper is cut for you!  I had a lot left over to make even more projects.

Meeting Martha

Wow! We had the best time at the Martha Stewart show. I want to share a quick photo and blog more about our trip later!

A great visit for sure!

CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK

We are here in New York City enjoying the sights and sounds. It's one of the most exciting cities in the world some say and we are totally agreeing!

Here's Sandi and I at the tree. It's magnificent! Rockefeller is awesome. It was late last night or we would have gone skating!

Today we are off to the Martha show and then Ground Zero!

NAUGHTY OR NICE? HOLIDAY CARD AND GIFT EXCHANGE FEATURING HSIAO-HUI LIN

Hsiao-hui Lin is very creative and who knew she was funny also?  Well, for Hsiao-hui's card, she did a take on who is on Santa's Naughty and Nice List.  For our card exchange, it was suggested that we use My Digital Studio (MDS) to make our cards.  Most of the demonstrators used it in some form, either on a card or a gift.  A few did not.  For those who didn't do MDS, they are supposed to go on the naughty list...hmmm hmmm!!!  Too funny. Notice that I have not checked anyone off.  I'm putting everyone on the NICE list regardless because I know that all of the demonstrators want SU! for Christmas and I want everyone to get all that is on their list!
Hsiao-hui used MDS on her card which is layered on real red card stock that she embossed with the Big Shot and the SU! square lattice embossing folder.  Hsiao-hui stamped her envelope and also stamped the inside of her card.  Click on the photo above to read the card a little easier.
Hsiao-hui used the Top Note die for the inside white card stock piece that she stamped the sentiment on and on which she hand signed.

Here's Hsiao-hui's home made gifts.  Hsiao-hui made her gift specifically for Lisa Chatterjee.  Lisa was sick the night of the exchange but Hsiao-hui gave us a sneak peek.

This first gift was completely hand made except for the clear acrylic frame.  Everything inside was hand colored or stamped or made using My Digital Studio.
I wish you could see this gift up close.  It really sparkles.  This is really an amazing project.

As if that wasn't enough, Hsiao-hui also made Lisa this metal magnet countdown to Christmas calendar.  I think she got the idea from one of Jan Wakeland's meetings.  We saw a very similar project at Jan's home.  As you countdown to Christmas you can either remove the magnets for you can have no magnets on the project and add them as you go along.  Really cool.  Lisa is going to love both of these.

HEADEDTO NEW YORK CITY

We will be on our way shortly to one of the greatest cities in the world - New York! I'm taking some friends and co-workers to the Martha Stewart show, which my sister Christina produces. We are also going to Rockefeller Center for a sights and sounds tour of the city, to a Broadway play, to Ground Zero to the 911 memorial and to some great restaurants!

These are part of the goodie bags I'm giving to everyone on the bus!

DEMONSTRATOR GIFT EXCHANGE

This is the gift that I made for our SU! demonstrator gift exchange.  It is cased from a fellow REMARKABLE stamper - Karen Altizer.   I modified it a little, with some of my squares just a little different, but in essence the same.  In an earlier post I told how Cathy Weir had me for the exchange; well, oddly enough, I had Cathy.  We were the only 2 to be matched up this way.  Cathy is a dear sweet friend whom I really treasure.  She has stood by me through thick and thin. I wanted to make her something special that she could put up every holiday.  When I saw this project on the SU! REMARKABLE Yahoo site, I knew immediately that I had to make it. I actually CASED this and modified it a little.  This project uses lots of red and silver glimmer paper and the new winter wishes stitched felt.
I used my Big Shot quite a big to die cut the letters and the tree and the ornament.  Notice that I did some embossing also.  And here is the stitched felt sampling I used.

Exclusive designs and custom coloring make these fun and cozy felt accents perfect adornments for your holiday greeting cards or gifts. Unique designs make it easy to meet any holiday need. 16 pieces total: 4 each of 4 designs.

Here is a photo of my packaging.  I used some of my striped wide grosgrain which is on sale on the clearance rack in my online store.
I made my tag with My Digital Studio and punched it out with the label punch by SU!

Here I am presenting the gift to Cathy.  It really was a cool project to make.

And finally one more view of this stunning project.

Thanks Karen for the inspiration!
