RemARKable New Catalog Blog Tour - Post 3 - Welcome to the Aviary

BRAND NEW STAMP SET FROM SU! - THE AVIARY
I was over at my upline - Janet Wakeland's - home today for playtime (an afternoon of fun stamping and crafting with other stampers for less than the price of a movie) and came up with these creations. I fell in love with this stamp set called The Aviary. It is adorable and is high on my wish list. In Jan's pile of scraps - dsp paper that she has left over from other projects - was the above paper from the specialty pack called Sweet and Sour. It is lightly embossed on this side with vanilla and the other colors are rose red and pumpkin pie. It is delicious paper. I layered that on vanilla card stock that I used the new smooch paint along the edges on (click photo to see closer up). The sentiment is stamped in early espresso - a brand new color from SU! and so too is the bird cage from the Aviary. The bird is stamped in rose red. The background card stock is rose red and it is embossed using the Big Shot. The ribbon is vanilla satin. Notice a rhinestone embellishment at the top of the bird cage.
The card above features the opposite side of the Sweet and Sour dsp and is bordered with pumpkin pie. Do you notice that I've used some of SU! brand new rhinestones? I mostly have them on the bird cages and some are near the sentiments. They are a wonderful embellishment and I will need to buy even more. Each sheet has 150 rhinestones on it and I know that is a lot of cards to use them on, but you can bet I will. It is such an inexpensive embellishment to have on hand and makes the card so elegant. The recipient of these cards will really feel special with this addition that cost pennies. Oh, and the ribbon is brand new satin ribbon in pumpkin pie.
This card features soft suede card stock that is embossed with the square lattice die and layered on the Brand New color Marina Mist. The bird cage is stamped to match and the bird is also done in marina mist. I had my stampin write markers on hand today so I had access to every color SU! makes right at my finger tips. You can now get all of the markers for the new colors as well as the the New In Colors. The ribbon is new also...it is the new tiny taffeta and it is done in marina mist. The ladies at my customer appreciation the other day really liked this style of new ribbon.
This card is also done with marina mist but is layered with the new Daffodil Delight card stock. The bird cage and bird is stamped with real red to match the new button embellishment. Note the adorable owl from the Aviary inside the bird cage. Jan said this reminded her of a genie in the bottle and I think I have to agree with her. The dsp is from the subtles dsp collection and is in the color Marina Mist. These dsp paper packs are 12 by 12 and have 20 sheets of paper and are a real bargain from SU! By the way, the sentiment is from a Brand New Stamp set also and it is called Curly Cute.

This final card also features a bird cage, another new button and rhinestone. It is a mini 3 by 3 card. The card stock base is baja breeze and was embossed using the Big Shot and the Brand New Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. I can't wait to create some more with this set and many of the other new things from SU! that the stampers are featuring on this tour. If you are interested in learning more about the items featured, you can click on my website above and check out the store. There are a lot of new things from SU!
