TODAY'S STAMP CAMP BIG SHOT PROJECT

BRAND NEW MILK CARTON DIE AND BIRD PUNCH
Today is our First Stamp Camp of the year. In a few hours - if the weather is good (we are expecting snow) I'll be on my way to Cathy Weir's house to do this project with my stampers along with about 9 or 10 other cards and projects. We have a full house of stampers and it is going to be fun. It uses several Big Shot dies, the I love love wheel, the new tiny tags stamp set and punch and mini library clips. This is a CASED project from my upline Janet Wakeland from the last Diva Day. I added the bird on this one just because I love this new punch. The milk carton die is brand new in this Occasions mini catalog. I think it is one of the best dies SU! has ever sold and I think most everyone in my group has bought it already. There are some cute projects coming out with it.
Here is a close up of one of the new tiny tags stamps. I love the charm punch! It is adorable! I think I'm going to put tags on almost everything I stamp.
This is a new heart embosslet for the Big Shot. It die cuts and embosses. And here is a trick...punch out a heart with the large heart punch...next center it inside the embosslet - die cut and here you go...I have the inside that is embossed with the larger die cut outside. Isn't it cool?

Stay tuned this weekend and this week for more of the projects and cards and photos from camp. We have potluck breakfast and lunch and depending on what the weather does...we may have dinner there too.

A FRIENDLY MOVERS AND SHAPERS CARD

Katie's Version of the Big Shot Mover and Shaper Fold Over Card
A few weeks ago my downline and I met to have a fun evening of making cards. Unfortunately, i was called into the hospital to take care of a sick patient, but all of my downline stayed together to busily create some gorgeous cards. A few weeks ago I showed you Linda Kincaid's lovely creations. Today I wanted to show you Katie Fords Fold over Mover and Shaper card. Isn't it gorgeous? Katie used the new Sending Love DSP which has lots of glitter to make this card for a favorite friend.
I taught this card back several months ago using a Christmas theme. My upline Janet Wakeland had taught it to me and she learned it somewhere else. So this is the idea that keeps on giving. It involves using your Big Shot extended cutting dies and plates and the movers and shapers die with whatever die cut you would like for the center. We used the scallop oval. Cut out card stock 11 by 4.24 - fold in half and then the front should be folded over 2.12 inches to make a crease so you know where your center is to fold back over, and then fold it back again. Place your completely opened paper as you would normally over the die but only put the cutting plates half way up so that the machine cuts only up to half of the central die - in this case the scallop oval. (I'll have to take photos later, maybe when I remake my card as this one was made for me).
Decorate your card with coordinating ribbons, card stock, dsp, other punches and stamps. I love this one that uses the new extra postage set - it says "insured to bring you a smile" on the inside - and friend from the stamp set With All My Heart on the outside.

Katie, this card sure did bring me a smile! Great work!

MDS VALENTINE CARD

I just want to remind all of you that you can make your valentines with My Digital Studio. This is such an easy program to use and the results are really great! SU! has it's own printing you can do via my website or print from your own computer. The advantage of printing via SU! is that the printing is guaranteed to match all of our Stampin Up! Exclusive Colors. This card was really easy and you know what...there are some new downloads including the My Sweet Pea paper in the new mini catalog, textured papers, the recipe kit and so much more.

BEAUTIFUL WINGS - EXLUSIVE SU!

NEW SU! EMBOSSLIT IS A MUST!
I am really enjoying this new embosslet that Big Shot and SU! put on the market this month. It is the Beautiful Wings embosslit and has some gorgeous butterflies in different sizes that you emboss and die cut at the same time. This card above uses a few I did in real red and chocolate chip card stock. I applied them to sending love dsp (ooh la la - glittered dsp). This card was actually an original idea of mine that came together rather quickly. I had an extra piece or I should say a scrap of the sending love dsp (and I refuse to get rid of scraps of this designer paper) that I adhered to very vanilla card stock, then pretty in pink, and finally real red card stock. Notice how I edged the card with the new hearts designer border punch for SU!? The butterflies have dimensionals under them and I think you can see that they pop up a little. There is new satin ribbon by SU! (this one is pink to compliment the card) and I used my new tiny tags stamp set and punch that I also love. (probably one of my favorite new punches for SU!)

This is another card using sending love glittered designer paper. I punched the hearts coner punch out of the real red card stock and sending love dsp for a cool layered effect in one corner only. I also added a little bit of glitter to the butterflies too and stamped the "love" from the tiny tags stamp set. This is another original idea that came to me pretty quickly also.

This is what the embosslit design looks like:Give your creativity wings with our Beautiful Wings Embosslits die. This chemically-etched die cuts and embosses a Beautiful Wings at the same time.

■ Designed to cut through one sheet of paper or card stock at a time
■ Use with Sizzix Big Shot machine, standard cutting pads, and multipurpose platform
■ Die size: 2-1/4" x 2-1/2"

And here is a card that my downline Hsiao-hui Lin demonstrated for the stampers/crafters at the last class at Carol's home. It is simply elegant. I love how the butterflies seem to have real wings to take flight. I also love Hsiao-hui's addition of the pearl from the SU! pretties kit to the largest butterfly, the happy birthday sentiment that is gorgeous from the well-scripted set and the new bashful blue satin ribbon. I really like the new satin ribbon. It is really soft and adds such an elegant look to your cards and crafts.

Hsiao-hui also embossed the tempting turquoise base of the card using another SU! exclusive embossing folder - the elegant bouquet. Great idea!

GUEST BLOGGING

Ooh La La - More Than Chocolate!

If I can be a guest blogger on Lisa's blog then I need to have Lisa on my blog. Lisa is really very talented and she is a good friend of mine. Lisa if you are reading this...I want you to guest blog here too! So I will need to gather some brand new samples to share here. In the meantime...I can't keep everyone in suspense. Here is a great card I received from Lisa at the most recent REMARKABLES TEAM MEETING!
This is so creative! Lisa took the stamp Like-o-meter and stamped it in chocolate chip. She then added the phrase "more than chocolate" to the top of the meter. Well isn't this just too clever? You can add any phrase here or you can make up a whole new barometer. Oh, my goodness, the wheels are spinning now! And what is great is that you can do this in any text program like Word or you can use My Digital Studio. (Don't forget to print on white ultra smooth card stock by SU! as it is the best for printing!)

Next Lisa embossed the adorable chocolate bunny from the new Occasions Mini catalog in chocolate chip. He looks so yummy - I feel like I want some chocolate now! I like how Lisa added the red gingham ribbon around his neck. Oh, yes, the ideas are definitely flowing now!

I also like that Lisa used one of the new Epoxy love brads to the bottom of the barometer. I need to remember that for the next time I use this stamp. Of course, with so many great ideas out there, I will not keep that stamp hidden for too long.

So, thanks Lisa for this great sample and thanks for having me on your blog. I absolutely love this sample. And these stamps are so inexpensive. All are under $1o, so everyone can afford them! Buy several and when your order totals $50 you can choose anything FREE from the SALE-A-BRATION mini catalog! Whoo hoo!

In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a tsunami struck Indonesia, when a hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when wildfires ravaged Australia, Stampin′ Up! demonstrators and customers have stepped forward and showed their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. This time is no different. If you would like to help out go to my website and order this stamp set.

Here are some ideas for cards you can make with this set. In honor of Valentine's day, I made these cards below. This set is perfect for Valentine's day, but don't let it fool you. This set is great for anniversaries, birthdays, love, dating, grandparent days, appreciation and thank you, sympathy and so much more.

I used sending love dsp for this card and stamped directly onto the designer paper. I not only used the I heart hearts set, I also used the sprinkles background set (little hearts) that you can earn for FREE during Saleabration.
This is the inside of my card. Do you notice my addition of the stamp set A Happy Heart?
On the above card I couldn't help but add more dazzling diamonds and dimensionals to pop those glittered hearts up. Crystal effects highlights the little love hearts. I added the stamp set You and Moi to this card - another stamp set you can earn for FREE during saleabration. I also used the scallop punch you can earn for FREE.
The card above used the very vogue wheel and the set a happy heart. I also love the use of the NEW heart embosslet with my Big Shot!!! Do you see how I layered it? This is a cool trick that was taught at leadership. You punch the heart out of the pretty in pink card stock with the large heart punch and then you put it in the embosslet to get the texture and then layer it over the die cut scalloped heart. So Cool. If you don't have this embosslet yet, put it on your next order for sure! The embosslet embosses and die cuts!!!!!
The inside of this card features another stamp set you can earn FREE during saleabration called whimsical words! It is the best stamp set you can earn for FREE!

Email me if you would like to learn more about earning FREE saleabration or if you would like to become a SU! demonstrator and get discounts on all that you buy! I love being a SU! demonstrator and let me tell you Saleabration gets better and better each year!

JP TAKES FIRST PLACE in PACK - PINEWOOD DERBY

My son JP won 1st in pack at the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby last night. I'm so proud. Here he is with a big smile on his face.

And here is a photograph of the winning car. JP and his dad worked diligently for the last 2 weeks on the car. They did a great job. JP was proud of the colors that he chose and also for his car's name - STAR DOG. It featured Luigi on the side and Moochie on the top near the spoiler. We still can't believe that he won. We were just hoping not to come in last place and were totally surprised at the outcome. Way to go JP!

CONGRATULATORY BABY CARD FOR LORI

One of the nurses at work - Lori Murphy - adopted a little girl. I'm so happy for her. I have a gift for her that was just waiting for a card. Today I made the card. I used pretty in pink, ultra smooth white and real red card stock. The designer paper is sending love dsp. It is awesome paper because it has 2 sides you can choose from in 6 different styles and one side is glittered! I used my new scallop border punch that you can earn FREE for Sale-a-bration to make pretty edges along the pretty in pink card stock. The stamped image is beautiful little baby - an under $10 stamp that SU! offered with the last catalog and thankfully I bought it . I stamped with real red ink. Do you like my pretty in pink corduroy button? I love these.
Here is my envelope. I used Forest Friends and sprinkles - 2 other stamp sets that you can get for FREE with sale-a-bration benefits and another stamp set that I haven't used until today that I think is so cool called Everything Nice. I think she'll like the card because girls are all about the pink and they are all about the glitz. The congratulations is a FREE sale-a-bration stamp from last year which I still use quite a bit.

Congratulations Lori!

USING NEW SU! SALE-A-BRATION DESIGNER PAPER

This is a free paper pack - WELCOME NEIGHBOR -you can get from SU! for SALE-A-BRATION! it is FREE!!!*

I wanted to show you 3 cards I made using the papers because sometimes patterned paper is not easy to work with. Well, have no fear with this paper. I'm busy creating tons of cards with this paper. Below are the first 3 that I made.
The card above features paper with some homes on it. It is really cool. I took another piece and punched out a heart for the center and then added some stamps.
This paper in the card above comes with this adorable home. I love that SU! paired only orange with Bermuda bay. These colors are so happy. I used some of my new SU! stamps to accent the card.
This card above is actually one off my favorites. I've been wanting to stamp this park bench with the squirrels on it for the longest time. This stamp and the sentiment are the only stamps I needed to use. The paper makes a card unto itself.

This is just a sampling of some of the great papers you get in the pack. I love this one with the pink hearts.
And these two are so adorable. The houses are so cute and they are going to really go well with our upcoming class Home is Where the Heart is at Katie's in February.
The papers here are crushed curry with some fine lines (top) and then some more adorable houses. So welcoming. And if you don't care for the houses, you will find a different patterned piece on the back.
This paper is absolutely great for every season, but I see a lot of potential for the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons. I love this apricot one with the trees on it and the coordinating paper above is all hearts. These are really darling. I wish I had room to show you all of the papers.

During Sale-a-bration you can earn FREE stamps, FREE PAPER and even a FREE Punch. It is your choice. See my website or the sale-a-bration brochure on the lower right side for more details on how to get your SU! product for FREE!

*with qualifying purchase from SU!

MORE VINTAGE VOGUE -FAUX BRADS technique

Linda Kincaid was at it again. She demonstrated this card on Friday at Carol's house. We had a wonderful class and lots of great new SU! Linda used regal rose, pretty in pink, certainly celery, whisper white and chocolate chip. Also....I wanted to tell you that the centers of the flowers look like they are brads. Well....let me let you in on a secret...they are not brads! Linda showed us the most amazing technique. She made her own centers using crystal effects and white craft ink. You can do it with any craft ink but you want to use craft for the opaque look! Just mix these together and drop onto card stock wherever a brad is needed. This was a true "wow" moment for me when she showed us this. Sometimes you are short on brads, don't have the right color, or you just don't have the brads. Linda just solved this problem easily. The only drawback is waiting for it to dry. But you know what? it didn't take long at all! Linda used the same technique in this post here as well!
Here is the inside of the card using the very vintage wheel and also well scripted stamp set.
All of these sets can be found in the new SU! Occasions Mini catalog. And when you order these you get FREE SALE-A-BRATION items!

Love these Linda! and thanks for that great tip!
