STAMPIN SISTAH'S CARDS - REASON TO SMILE AND MORE

As promised, here are the cards from my fellow stampin sistah's.  We had a really great day on Saturday - crafting and making cards and projects.   I already published the card I demonstrated - see this past Saturday's post.  I will post the projects later, but wanted to get the cards out.

First up is a really neat card demonstrated by Kathy Winland.  This card is a true winner! It's very easy to do and was a CASE from PINTEREST.  Did you know you can follow me on PINTEREST? (see right hand side bar). There are really cool craft ideas and cards I have pinned - that you will love.
All you do for this card is emboss it with the DOTS embossing folder for the BIG SHOT.  Then, randomly punch the BLOSSOM punch by SU!  Mount this to a piece of designer paper!  Here, we used FLORAL DISTRICT - my FAVORITE DSP by SU!  Kathy also embossed and die cut the buttons which are from the SWEET BUTTON EMBOSSLITS by SU!   I made this a sympathy card because I never have enough of them.

Here's a photo of Kathy after she cleverly stamped the envelope to my card (see this post).  We used the RONALD MCDONALD stamp set MOVING FORWARD and I LOVE how she stamped this FROG jumping!

NEXT...we had three cards using a BRAND NEW stamp set that will BE EXCLUSIVE in JULY only and GUESS WHAT...it will only COST $5 with purchase.  It's called REASON TO SMILE and it can be purchased in wood mount or clear mount.  Even though the set is not out just yet (demonstrators can pre-purchase it to make samples), I want to give you a sneak peek! You will be ready for July!

FIRST UP...here's a really cool card by SANDI HAERTIG!  I love her color choice.  She stamped some of the flowers tone on tone with kraft ink on kraft card stock.   Next, she used some of our BRAND NEW IN COLORS - Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green to stamp the flowers.  Some of the flowers on the whisper white card stock are in kraft (tiny small ones - love this!!!!).  The card stock midnight muse is first embossed with the NEW DELICATE DESIGNS FOLDERS - these are GORGEOUS!  Next she had us tear some of the card stock away.  The little tags are stamped with the stamp set TINY TAGS and punched out with the tiny tag punch.  These are tied to the gumball green stitched satin ribbon which is BRAND NEW with SU! LINEN THREAD.

We also stamped our envelope and the inside of the card.  The sentiment is from a RETIRED stamp set by SU! which interestingly has the same name.  Goes well.  Good choice Sandi!
This is a photo of Sandi and Hsiao hui crafting.  Sandi is on the left and Hsiao hui is on the right.  Sandi injured her wrist a few days before our crafting event and was really bothering her.  She was a true friend, prepping a card for all of us and making sure we had cool things to do!  She made out ok, even though it hurt.

This next card was designed by Lisa Chatterjee.  I think the colors are great.  And Lisa cleverly did the layered labels using the brand NEW FRAMELITS for SU! called Apothecary Accents.
If you own a BIG SHOT - I'm going to encourage you to get the BRAND NEW APOTHECARY ACCENTS FRAMELITS.  These are amazing!  I have been using them so much now and I am loving the ease at which they cut, and because they are wafer thin...they store so easily too.  The sizzix dies are thick because they cut out something like 100 different materials including thin wood, steel, cloth, felt, etc.  The framelits are mostly meant for paper.  This layered look is really "in" now.
The picture below is what is included in the set and they do coordinate with many of our stamps.

See what you're cutting with Framelits dies. Use with the Big Shot, Standard Cutting Pads, and the Multipurpose Platform. Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies are designed to cut images from World Treasures Stamp Set and Layered Labels Stamp Set. 4 dies (largest: 4-7/8" x 2-3/4"). Cuts a single sheet of paper.

Here is a photo of Lisa working on a project that I'm going to show in another post.

The last of the 3 cards using REASON TO SMILE Promotion stamp set is actually a gift card holder that was designed by Arleen Graham.

This is a card with the flap on top that goes behind the stamped image of the flower.  We used Calypso Coral as the main color here and the patterned stamped image on the flap is stamped in the coordinating ink color.  It is from the stamp set SUMMER SILHOUETTES.  This is a BRAND NEW stamp set in the idea book.
A gift card and note goes inside. And look below...inside the holder for the gift card and note is actually an envelope that was sealed and then cut on one end, then pinched together and adhered.  Very cool Arleen!
Although not shown in this post, Arleen made us each an envelope to put the gift card holder in.  She used the NEW SCORING TOOL and made her own envelopes from vellum.

Here's a photo of Arleen holding up her gift card before she flipped the flap under. (hmm...try saying that 6 times!)
Lastly, for cards, Hsiao-hui used the NEW PAPILLION POTPOURRI stamp set and the BRAND NEW SU! BUTTERFLY PUNCH. This punch is a MUST HAVE!!! and then of course, you MUST get the coordinating stamp set.
I think that tiny SU! pearls would look wonderful and elegant on the butterfly.  Note that Hsiao hui used TWITTERPATED designer paper on the card and it is such a beautiful and delicate pattern.  She used the NEW EDGLITS to cut the beautiful edge on the top of the card and note that the baja breeze card stock is embossed with the FANCY FAN embossing folder which is NEW and EXCLUSIVE to SU!

Hsiao-hui's card is another card that uses a flap.  The butterfly acts to hold the top flap in place and keep the card closed.  Here's what the card looks like inside.  Hsiao-hui used the NEW stamp set BETSY's BLOSSOMS inside and also die cut the banner from the NEW BANNER FRAMELITS - another MUST HAVE from SU!  Banners are really "in" as well.

Hsiao hui had us color the flowers and bird and leaves with our NEW IN COLOR MARKERS from SU!  I am really falling "in love" with these NEW colors.

Here is the coordinating envelope.

Lots of great NEW products from SU!  I feel so lucky to share them with these lovely ladies of the Stampin Sistah's.  Projects will be in a future post!
