BRAND NEW SU! FROSTY FRIENDS

This is a brand NEW SU! stamp set coming out tomorrow in the STAMPIN UP! HOLIDAY Catalog called FROSTY FRIENDS.  Actually, it's a single stamp you can purchase.  I think these little snowmen are so cute.  I CASED this card almost exactly from the Holiday Catalog.  Note that I did emboss the cherry cobbler card stock with the SU! EMBOSSING FOLDER called STRIPES.  And...I actually made the stripes go diagonal.  Really cool.  I saw this done by another demonstrator and thought it was really neat, so I did it on this card.  I water colored the snowmen as well.

I used the edgelits die by SU! to die cut the curve and then attached another die cut that I cut with the NEW Finishing Touches Edgelit.  Also NOTE that I embossed the pool party card stock with the NEW DELICATE DESIGNS embossing folder.  It's these little touches that really make a card.  I also added cherry cobbler SU! twine, which was also on the cased card.

AND....Look at the CHRISTMAS stamp.  It's a SHELLI GARDNER EXCLUSIVE to SU! called SEASONAL SAYINGS.  I can't wait to show you this entire set.  It's just AWESOME.  I stamped it in CHERRY COBBLER and then water colored the words CHRISTMAS.  This is certainly a cool card you can send to friends and relatives this coming Holiday Season.  It is CHRISTMAS IN JULY so I am glad to show you a few CHRISTMAS CARDS.

A FEW MORE REASONS TO SMILE

Tomorrow is the last day of July and it's the very last day you can purchase the REASON TO SMILE stamp set for only $5 and the last day you can purchase it period.  I wanted to share a few more examples using this set.  It's an amazing stamp set at an amazing price.

The colors in this card are so bright and cheerful.  I used my SU! COLOR COACH to put together the colors of baja breeze, tangerine tango and daffodil delight.  The center of the blossom is from the REASON TO SMILE set.  I also stamped and punched the butterfly with the Papillion Potpourri stamp set.  I embossed the daffodil delight card stock with the NEW SU! CHEVRON embossing folder.

I stamped the inside of this card with the same stamp sets.  So clean looking.

This card is similar to the card we stamped at Pat's house. I showcased this card in pink colors the other day.  Love this style of cards.

ANOTHER CARD FROM PAT'S - PAPILLION POTPOURI AND REASON TO SMILE

Here's another card from class at Pat's.  I don't know if you can tell but the flower in the center of the punched BLOSSOM that was punched with the boho blossom punch was first stamped with one of the flowers from the REASON TO SMILE stamp set.  We stamped first and then punched.  This card is really cool and from a technique I learned from my friend Kathy Winland.  You punch out the large blossom first from the whisper white card stock. Stamp the little butterfly and the Happy Birthday sentiment in riding hood red on the white, and don't forget your antennae for the butterflies. Next, run the whisper white card stock through the BIG SHOT using the NEW FANCY FAN embossing folder.  Cool huh?  Next pop up the white on top of any dsp you like and use SU! dimensionals. 

The larger butterfly is also from the PAPILLION POTPOURRI stamp set and stamped then punched on pretty in pink card stock.  All are layered and voila...a very pretty card.  Don't forget the large sticky back pearl in the center of the large blossom.  All by SU!

Today, Sandi, Lisa, Hsiao-hui and I as well as several other friends of ours are headed to LANCASTER, PA for the  

 Creating Keepsakes SCRAPBOOKING Convention 

It's going to be awesome.  It's going to be a GREAT GIRLS WEEKEND.  I've gone several years in a row and always come home having learned so many NEW and fun techniques for scrapbooking, card making and paper crafting.  I usually take a few classes and go to a few crops, meet up with the CKC staff, some of whom I'm great friends with, and then just have fun shopping!!! I can't wait to see what is NEW and EXCITING.  We'll post a few pics of our visit and will be sure to share things we've learned in upcoming posts.

SU HOLIDAY MINI - SNEAK PEEK - FRIGHTENING FELINE

I just had to have this FRIGHTENING FELINE stamp by SU!  I probably have more than enough Halloween stamps, but I can never really have enough.  I love HALLOWEEN!  When I saw this stamp in the new HOLIDAY catalog by SU! I knew I had to preorder it (perk of being a demonstrator is to be able to order some items the month before they are officially released).  SU! also has some new STICKY BACK GOOGLIE EYES and they were perfect for this cat.  I embossed the stamped image with whisper white embossing powder, then with sponge daubers I swirled the colors for the background. The base card stock is embossed with the SU! CHEVRON embossing folder which is BRAND NEW. And...the grey and black striped ribbon is BRAND NEW in the HOLIDAY catalog as well.  Wait til you see this catalog. This was my card for an organized swap from Stampin Connection.

TIME RUNNING OUT - REASON TO SMILE STAMP SET

Here's another card sample using the SU! JULY PROMOTION stamp set called REASON TO SMILE,  You can purchase this set at the regular price by itself or you can purchase it for only $5 with qualifying purchase from SU!  It's an adorable set and well worth it for only $5. BFF CARD FROM SANDI

This is an awesome card from one of my BEST friends - Sandi Haertig.  Sandi made this awesome card with some dsp and blush blossom Smooch spritz spray from SU!  It really came out great and her color combination totally rocks.  She stamped the sentiment on the card using her SU! stamps. This is just an awesome card.  The black polka dotted grosgrain is from SU!

Although the Friendship stamp is not by SU!, it's a awesome stamp and it really says it all.  FRIENDSHIP is a million little things!  I am so blessed to have some really great friends

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY

My brother in law Danny has a birthday and here is the card I made for him.  This is actually the card I just demonstrated at the BIRTHDAY CARD class at Pat's home last week.  We made all kinds of birthday cards.  I knew I would be remiss if I didn't demo a masculine card.  I'm so happy with the way this card turned out.  So cool and I LOVE nautical designs. This was actually one of the favorite cards the ladies made that day.

Here's the inside of the card.  I hand cut the anchor after stamping it.  The sentiment is stamped inside a punched circle in whisper white - it's really nice to do this for the inside of dark colored card stock cards.

The anchor is again stamped on the outside with the compass and DANNY's name is stamped with the NEW NOTABLE alphabet.  I love alphabet stamps  It's good to have a few in your collection and this is one I would highly recommend.

JANET WAKELAND - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I want to wish my wonderful upline JANET WAKELAND, a very happy birthday.  She's on her way home from the SU! convention and she is just super awesome.  Janet, enjoy your day.

This is the BIRTHDAY CARD I made for Janet and presented to her last week.

 I stamped and hand cut the sunflower that was stamped with the NEW SUMMER STARFRUIT in color by SU!  I also added the birthday sentiment and lots of crystal effects and dazzling diamonds glitter.  In the center of the flower is a matching dimensional DAHLIA -in summer starfruit.  So cool - this new embellishment from SU!

I know Janet LOVES MDS, so in honor of her and in honor of the BRAND NEW MDS 2 coming out (AUGUST 1st!  whoo hoo!) ...I did an insert in MDS for the inside.  I love this.  This insert was printed on SU! ultrasmooth cardstock which is really cool to print on, from my own CANON printer.

Of course I had to hand stamp the envelope for Janet!  I used a BRAND NEW HOSTESS BIRTHDAY stamp for the sentiment and the NEW NOTABLE ALPHABET for Janet's name which I highlighted with crystal effects.  I LOVE this NEW ALPHABET! The flowers are from Betsy's Blossoms, and the other sayings are from a hostess set from last year.  After I stamped these and photographed the envelope, I went back to the flowers and highlighted them with a white gel pen. Wish I had taken a photo of the final envelope design, it looked way cool!

HOLIDAY CATALOG FOR SU!

I'm super excited about this BRAND NEW HOLIDAY CATALOG for SU!  The entire catalog is AWESOME!  I don't think there is one thing in this catalog that I don't want/ Thank goodness I'll have the entire rest of the year to purchase all of it.  Here's a CASED card I made from the NEW catalog.  While it is cased, let me tell you it was a little labor of love because I stamped and cut and watercolored three of these - one for me, one for Lisa, and one for Janet Wakeland my upline.   This set is called WONDROUS WISHES and it's gorgeous!  I love the sentiments for the inside and outside and I love the little tag on the outside which is actually a BRAND NEW PUNCH called the Ticket duo punch by SU!

Notice that the vanilla background card stock is embossed with the snowflake embossing folder by SU!  I also used a BRAND NEW edglet to cut the kraft lace border at the top and bottom, and I used very vanilla seam binding to tie.  I think this set is a great HOLIDAY set to have.  I love the contrasting colors, very vanilla, whisper white, gumball green and cherry cobbler.  This card will definitely be sent to a very special someone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER - BETSY'S BLOSSOMS AND NEW NOTABLE ALPHABET

 A very happy birthday today to my sister in law HEATHER.  Hope it's a good one.  To celebrate I have a BRAND NEW SU! card using BETSY's BLOSSOMS and an ENVELOPE in which I used the NEW NOTABLE ALPHABET stamp set by SU! that is both whimsical and fun.

The dsp is from the collection FLORAL DISTRICT which is just such a fabulous color palette, and the daffodil delight lace in the background is a NEW SU! EDGLIT.  I love this bird and placed a rhinestone from SU! inside her eye.  The large flower is also a BRAND NEW FRAMELIT by SU!  Do you like my little punched out flower and the pearl inside?  Too darling!  The happy birthday sentiment is die cut with the banners framelits.  Oh, I love these SU!

The alphabet is stamped in gumball green.  I love this NEW IN COLOR.

NEW SU! POPPY PARADE BY LISA

Here's an awesome card that my dear friend Lisa Chatterjee CASED from the internet. Sorry, we don't recall the exact originator of the card, but we LOVE IT!  Lisa embossed the POPPY PARADE stamp set with turquoise embossing powder by SU! onto early espresso card stock.  The color is just striking and oh so much more beautiful in person. The background card stock matches the embossing powder and is also tempting turquoise.  A great color and one of my all time favorites! Have you ever heat embossed with SU! embossing powder?  It's so cool.  I'm going to review this as we make this card at my friend RITA's home when we have class in mid August.  Sign up for class if you are local and make this and other great cards for fun!

TOXIC TREATS - SU! SNEAK PEEK

My friend Lisa and I went up to Janet Wakeland's Stampworld last Friday and created with ALL NEW SU! HOLIDAY catalog stamps and papers.  Janet designed this great HALLOWEEN CARD using the stamp set TOXIC TREATS.  I love this card!  I also love the BRAND NEW SHAPED TULLE that is in the catalog.  There are several new colors.

Look at the background.  It's a really cool wheel that doesn't need to be used for just HALLOWEEN.  It's an all purpose wheel.called ETRUSCAN ELEGANCE.  I can see a lot of great cards and projects being made with this.  As for the TOXIC TREATS stamp.  I wasn't sure I was going to get any more HALLOWEEN stamps, but I will be getting this set.  Who am I kidding?  I LOVE HALLOWEEN.  Note that this was die cut with our NEW FRAMELITS - APOTHECARY ART.  I'll be demonstrating these framelits at RITA's house in August.  Hope you can come.

MORE DIGITAL LUIGI

Having Fun with My Digital Studio today.  I took a photo of the ocean last night with my iphone (the iphone takes pretty decent photos!) and lightened it up for the background of this page.  Then I added a photobox and put the photo of Luigi and I from this am inside.  I added a stamp brush set for the sentiment which is ever so true - I love that doggie!  I also added taffeta ribbon and shadowed it.  Loving my MDS and can't wait for MDS 2 with the NEW SVG files! This is what I call vacation!  Playing with MDS and being at the beach.  Can't get better than this.

OK, I'm headed to the ocean!  More MDS tonight!

SNEAK PEEK MDS DIGITAL TAG - PERFECTLY PRESERVED

Since I'm doing some MDS today, thought I would share with you a very easy project - a quick tag using MDS and a BRAND NEW stamp set and DIGITAL set from SU! called PERFECTLY PRESERVED.  This tag was premade and on one of the new DVD's you can purchase from the NEW SU! holiday catalog.  I added the grosgrain ribbon and the antique pin.  This stamp set has a coordinating framelit so you can stamp or digitally create and then die cut.  And when the NEW MDS SVG files come out in MDS 2, you can cut them with your e cutter. Whoo hoo SU!  And coming in AUGUST SU! has a DIGITAL PROMOTION - 31% off select digital downloads and also on PRINTING!  Yeah!  SU! has awesome quality print services. 

LUIGI TRIES THE OCEAN AT THE OBX

I am amazed at my dog!  Luigi does not like the ocean.  He hardly likes getting wet and only tolerates a bath now and again (thanks to a self cleaning dog coat). But, our baby doggie Luigi was a real sport.  He donned his doggie life jacket and headed on into the ocean.  Bill got me a CANON waterproof digital camera, so we took a few pics to mark the momentous occasion.  I quickly put this into MY DIGITAL STUDIO and designed a quick digital page.  OH! and there is HOT BREAKING NEWS to make SU! MDS the BEST DIGITAL PROGRAM out there.  Coming very soon, with MDS 2 are SVG files.  Don't know what these are?  Well, they are files that can be cut with an electronic cutter. SAVE your money folks!  You will WANT to own MDS 2 and the new e-cutter, so you can digitally create on the computer and then die cut the images.  I'm so excited.  This truly shoots SU! right to the top for digital programs.

HEART OF CHRISTMAS AND ORNAMENT KEEPSAKES - SU! HOLIDAY MINI SNEAK PEAK

I just received my preorder from SU! for the NEW SU! HOLIDAY MINI CATALOG.  I'm super excited.  You should be receiving your mini catalogs soon. And WATCH YOUR MAIL...they are NOT MINI catalogs!  They are large - the same size as the regular IDEA BOOK and there are 40 pages!  That means there is so much to choose from.  I am participating in a Non-Convention Goers Swap over at STAMPIN CONNECTION and wanted to share one of my cards for the CHRISTMAS SWAP.  Here's the card front using an MDS download for the DSP called CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS.

Banners are really in so I cut the dsp to be a banner.  I embossed the background with the SU! HOUNDSTOOTH embossing folder and the green background with DOTS.  The ornaments are layered with dimensionals and then highlighted with crystal effects.  There is a rhinestone right in the center of the ornament.  I used a black taffeta ribbon for the tie around the ribbon and added a MERRY tag. Very Vanilla complements it all.

Here is the inside of the greeting card.

The inside greeting is a BRAND NEW STAMP from the SU! holiday catalog called HEART OF CHRISTMAS.  I love this greeting and it's really inexpensive.  I can see this being used on inside or outside of cards, even on envelopes.

It's not too soon to start your CHRISTMAS CRAFTING. 

HAPPY 25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CINDY G

This year is the 25th Wedding Anniversary of one of our Stampin Sistah's - Cindy G.  She recounted how her husband surprised her in church with a renewal of their wedding vows.  How awesome is that?  I made this card for them using SU! supplies  I used the BRAND NEW ARGYLE EMBOSSING FOLDER for the SU! BIG SHOT.  This folder is exclusive to SU! and such a cool folder.  Look at the background to see it better or click on the photo to enlarge.  The whisper white card stock was die cut with the NEW OVAL BIGZ DIE for SU! and then embossed with another cool NEW embossing folder for SU! called FANCY FAN.  Before I embossed it, I stamped the leaves in GUMBALL GREEN ink with the NEW SU! FOAM INK PADS.  Always stamp first and then emboss.  It's not that easy to stamp after you have embossed.  The flowers are die cut with the NEW FLORAL FRAMELITS for SU! with the middle flower stamped with the same stamp set as the leaves which are in the set called BETSY's BLOSSOMS.  You don't need to use the flower stamp in it's entirety.  You can stamp it onto the cardstock and die cut or you can die cut first and then stamp.
