FILE IN THE MIDDLE CARD - BLOG TOUR DAY #3

I hope you are all enjoying this blog tour as much as I am. I am so proud of my team. They are all working to win the $50 NEW SU! IDEA BOOK gift certificate from my upline Janet Wakeland, who is leading the blog tour. I am giving $20 certificate if one of my team members wins! Yeah! So far Jen, Hsiao-hui, Carol and Celestine have entered and I am so excited. Carol was the first to submit her blog tour report. See the post below for the blog tour report and the scavenger hunt and then don't forget to cc me so I know you submitted. In addition, I will be awarding a prize to some lucky reader of my blog who enters. So lots at stake! So here is my submission for Blog Tour Day 3. It is called the File in the Middle card. My downline Katie Ford showed us how to make this card at class this past tuesday.

This is the outside of the card. I have used Razzleberry Lemonade as the designer paper on a card base of the new IN COLOR dusty durango. My stamp set here is my new For All You Do that I have featured in blog tour posts 1 and 2. I stamped the flowers just like I did in yesterday's post and added them to the stems that I stamped in always artichoke and cut out. I like to leave a little white showing as it helps to see the images better. I also used the scallop edge punch which is on special this week at 30% off.

This is why the card is called file in the middle. There is a divider on the inside that you can see at the top of this card. In this view you also get a better look at my flowers. I took the rhinestones out of the rhinestone brads by SU! and adhered them with glue dots. I also used a 2 way glue pen to put dazzling diamonds glitter on the flowers.

The way to make this card is to cut the cardstock lengthwise so that it measures 5.5 by 11.5

Score this cardstock at 4.25, 7.25, 10.25 inches Fold them so that you get the mtn. in the middle. Punch out a designer punch (I used the curvy label punch, Katie used the circle punch in her sample below) from the two sides that make the mtn. Next, adhere the mtn with sticky strip so it stays closed. Next stamp or place an image so that it can be seen on either side of the divider (see next image).

Do you see that I can flip the center divider so that you see an image on each side. By the way the ink colors for the flowers and other images are dusty durango and crushed curry.

This is the opposite side. The sentiments are also a part of the For All You Do stamp set.

Here is another sample of a file in the middle card using the new dsp Tall Tales and the stamp set Animal Stories.

The base card stock is old olive. The sentiment is from teeny tiny wishes another new stamp set and I used a rhinestone brad to balance the image on the front. The elephant is set on soft suede card stock.

The sentiments inside are from On Your Birthday and On A Pedestal. They are stamped in soft suede.

Now there is something funny about this card. Can you guess what? Well it is that my elephants inside the card, on either side of the file, are slanted. My upline Janet Wakeland wanted to know why I made them that way. I laughed to myself and told her they are standing up as if they are at the circus on the pedestal. I tried to make them stand straight but I started tearing them so I left them alone. So please imagine that they are standing on that pedestal.

Here is Katie's original version of the card. Now she is not the original designer, although I wish she was. She made this card herself but she learned about file in the middle card from another demo Dawn Griffith. You can see her original card on her blog.

By accident I deleted the card front from this post, so I am posting it below. Katie used the melon mambo card stock and razzleberry lemonade dsp. The images are from the new level 3 hostess set the More the Merrier and the cupcake set Crazy for Cupcakes.

I love these cards and can't wait to see more of them. Thanks Katie for teaching us how to do this card.
Next stop on the tour is Michelle Reynolds.
