FINALLY - THE RECIPE BOX

Here is another great Linda creation - RECIPE BOXES. This past Tuesday Linda and I lead our group with a recipe box project. We decorated boxes we got at Michael's with brand new Autumn Traditions dsp, apricot appeal, whisper white, dusty durango and bermuda bay card stock. The chef is from Voila stamp set. We paper pieced his coat with dusty durango textured card stock. The ribbon is soft suede dotted grosgrain and we used a large grommet in white. Crystal effects were used to highlight the buttons on his coat. The rest of the chef was watercolored.

The top of the box uses our new chocolate chip striped grosgrain. This is gorgeous ribbon. Linda also bought the black striped which I'm thinking will be great for Halloween projects. Linda says it is gorgeous. The letters were cut from the Big Shot alphabet Broadway.

This is the inside of the box. The divider cards were either always artichoke or ruby red. We stamped the different dividers using the stamp set From the Kitchen of. You'll have to purchase the set if you want to make more cards. The recipe card itself is stamped in basic brown classic ink and attached to soft suede card stock and then placed on a larger 6 by 4 card in more mustard. The ink for the different categories was either ruby red or always artichoke. I used the 3/4 inch, 1 and 1/4 inch and 1 3/8 inch circle punches.

The chef is attached to a clothespin that opens to hold a recipe card.

Here is another view of the card held by the chef.

This was such a fun project. We had 17 total for the class. Thanks again Linda for a great project.
