LISA CHATTERJEE - BY THE TIDE

This coming Sunday at 12 am starts another REMARKABLE STAMP OF THE MONTH BLOG TOUR.  We'll be featuring BY THE TIDE.  You just have to see what we have been doing with this set.  In anticipation of the tour, let me show you something a friend shared with us a few weeks ago.

My dear friend Lisa Chatterjee shared this card with our Stampin Sistah group shortly after this set came out. We stamped with inks for the background, but then highlighted by stamping using SU! shimmer paint and reinkers mixed in the SU! spritz spray bottles.  I think Lisa said that she found a similar card on Yvette's Paper Garden, so we may be casing the design a bit on this card but Lisa used a different technique than Yvette.  You will need to see this card in person to really appreciate how cool it is and see how much it shimmers. This technique is too cool.

Depending on how you tilt the card, you get a different sheen to the card.
The first of these cards, the tilt shows the shell and the images a little more white and gold and then tilt it like the card immediately above and you see some pinks and blues and greens in the mix.

Here's the card with the envelope.

The best way to do this is to pour a couple of drops of the shimmer paint on a plastic or vinyl surface.  You could use a plate, but we used a craft sheet or perhaps wax paper might work. Swirl some reinker for extra color into the mix and then put your stamp in this and then just stamp the image on your card stock. SU! whisper white works really well.  The other thing you can do is ink the stamp first, then spray with the spritz you made, and then stamp.  Or, just go ahead and stamp and then spritz.  Really cool technique Lisa.

Return here on Sunday so you can see what I came up with using this stamp set and so you can see more great ideas on the REMARKABLE BLOG TOUR.
