ANOTHER GENTLY FALLING - EMBOSSED IN GOLD

I am in love with this stamp set - GENTLY FALLING!  And I'm in love with the SU! designer specialty paper MOCHA MORNING!  I used both here on this card.

The papers in MOCHA MORNING are incredible.  Some are embossed with gold leafing and some have flocking on them.  The gold just shimmers.  I love every single paper in this set.  In an earlier post, I used this paper to make a card for my aunt's 75th Birthday.

I embossed the leaves on Early Espresso Card Stock and cut them out.  I also embossed the heartfelt from Fabulous Phrases stamp set on the punched label.  Originally, I didn't have the heartfelt there, but the card was a little naked without something there.  I would have put another leaf, but it would have unbalanced the card since I have the embossed acorn on the bottom.
This is the inside of the card.  I embossed the leaf right to the inside.  The acorn was cut out after it was embossed.  The envelope in this photo and the one above also has leaf outlines stamped (with early espresso classic ink) and embossed with gold embossing powder by SU!  I watercolored the leaves with early espresso ink. The sentiment on the inside of the card is from Nature Silhouettes.

I love embossing and am glad that SU! is offering different colors of embossing powder.  Check out my online store and look under shop now - embossing powders.  We have them in cherry cobbler, melon mambo, tangerine tango, wild wasabi - just to name a few colors.  There are lots!  We also have a new pewter embossing powder in the SU! Holiday Mini.

If you click on this photo below you will see the leaves in even more detail.
I promised more Gently Falling, so this is another one.  I'm sure I'll be doing more with this set.  In fact, if you like this card, we can do it at the next class later in September.

GENTLY FALLING - NEW SU! HOLIDAY MINI STAMP SET

As soon as I saw this stamp set - GENTLY FALLING - in the NEW SU! holiday Mini Catalog, I knew I had to have it.  It has a world of possibilities and it is great for all season cards, especially Fall.  I made this card this morning for my mom.  I'm always filled with gratitude for her.  She's stood by me thick and thin and is my number one supporter.

The image was first stamped with the more colorful stamp (2 step stamping set - so you get lots of stamps with this set) using real red, more mustard and old olive classic ink.  Next, I used a stamp positioner, but you don't have to, to stamp the outline leaf on top of it with versamark.  Next I heat embossed with gold glory embossing powder from SU!  The edges of the more mustard card stock behind the image were also heat embossed.

The card base is Kraft Card stock and it is embossed with the lattice embossing folder.  The old olive card stock is embossed with the NEW Houndstooth embossing folder and the real red is embossed with the dots. All are embossed with the Big Shot by SU!.  My envelope and card have the word gratitude stamped on it using basic black in and the stamp set Fabulous Phrases.  I stamped the outline of the leaf in different colors and versamark (tone on tone) on my envelope.

Look for more samples with this GENTLY FALLING set soon.

I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT AGAIN - CONGRATS CARD

My sister is having another baby.  I'm so excited.  My baby sister just had a little boy last week and now my other sister is having a baby. She is due this Fall.  I'm so excited about the baby coming.  It is nice to have little babies in the family again.   This is the card I made for my sister and her family.  I used the stamp set Bear Hugs from the Build a Bear line of stamps.  I got this stamp set FREE during SU! saleabration last year and didn't have a chance to use it.  The bear is so very cute.  It is perfect for the paper piecing I did on this card.

I also used my Big Shot to die cut the circles and I used the XL scallop circle and the BRAND NEW DOILY TRIPLE LAYER PUNCH and some brads.  I added some texture and embossed with my Big Shot.  The Sweet Wishes sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder and are words from the stamp set Fabulous Phrases.  I did put a blue bow on the card, but honestly, we don't know if she is having a boy or a girl so I think this card works for both.

Congrats to all!

I am so glad it is spring!  You are going to love this stamp set, the papers, the punch, and the class I have set up for you.  Here is one of the cards I made at my upline Jan's using this dsp and the stamp set.  We coordinated the stamp set with another one called Fabulous Phrases!  I made a few of these cards for friends. I did modify Jan's a bit.  She used the opposite side of this dsp. I couldn't help it, I really liked this side best!  Both sides are fabulous!

I really like the addition of the pearls.  They're from SU!  So too is the crochet ribbon!  This is such a cool vintage style card!  Awesome!

Here are the envelopes I made for two of my dear friends who took me out to the local scrapbook store and then to lunch last weekend for my birthday!  Thanks Lisa and Sandi!  Hey...did any of you ever think of embossing an envelope with the Big Shot?  I did!  I also used my favorite retired stamp alphabet - Big Deal Alphabet!

I used SU! pearls on the envelope also!  The other stamp set I used was Great Friend!  And then once all was done, I spritzed with some vanilla glimmer spray!

NEW SU! HOSTESS SET CARDS

I was at my upline Janet Wakeland's home yesterday and we made some very lovely cards that I want to share with you.  I'll be sharing several of them this week.  My favorite card was the baby card below that Janet designed.  My friend Lisa Chatterjee and I were together making cards and we had such a lovely time getting so inspired by all of the new products that SU! has to share with all of us!  After making the baby card I was inspired to make my own card using the same hostess set called A Slice of Life (this set comes in clear or wood mount and can be earned in the US with a hostess order as a level 1 set).  I've seen some fabulous things done with this set.
You can click on the card to view it or the one below it even larger.  Isn't the baby outfit just adorable?  The card stock is Pretty in Pink and was embossed with the brand new Tulip border embossing folder for the Big Shot exclusive to SU!  The designer paper is awesome Springtime Vintage.  It's got some great papers in the pack.  Notice also that there is a scallop rectangle behind the outfit and that is a clearlit embosslit for the Big Shot for SU! as well.  The other pieces are punches and of course we had to use a SU! button and Janet's favorite accessory - linen thread!  I also love the crochet ribbon embellishment which is also a SU! exclusive.  The other card stock used is Rose Red which coordinates so well with the dsp.  Hello Baby comes from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes which you have seen me use time and time again!
This card also uses a stamp from A Slice of Life.  I came up with this card after the baby card.  So yes, it is my original.  I used one of our new in colors - Blushing Bride card stock as the base and the dsp coordinates with it.  You can buy a pack of In Color dsp to match card stock, ribbons, inks, etc.  It is an awesome 12 by 12 pack of paper (#117158with 40 sheets of dsp - 4 of each, double sided in 5 In Colors).  The other dsp I used is from the Elegant Soiree pack and is crumb cake colored with a vanilla pattern to it.  I die cut the ribbon that I stamped happy day on from the new petal cone die exclusive to SU! in the new Occasions Mini and I stamped the words from one of my favorite sets called Fabulous Phrases (#120501).  Then I added a button and linen thread and some die cuts from another new Big Shot die for SU! called Fun Flowers.  You will need to return here tomorrow to see something awesome we made with the flowers!

On both of the cards we highlighted certain parts with NEW Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink.  These really illuminate your art work and are such a nice accent.  Come to one of my classes to see how to use these.  They come like nailpolish and are so easy to use!

WELCOME CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HANUKKAH

I love this card.  I made this at the Remarkable Retreat and my friends Deanna and Jill really loved it so they CASED it.  I was thrilled to see the variations of the card on Jill's blog. This card was actually made with leftovers from a Christmas card class that I did a few weeks ago using the same stamp set but a different stamp.  This card uses the family decorating the tree and the father is lifting the little boy up to put the star on the tree.  There is a little girl on the stamp also but since we only have the three of us and the dog, I left the little girl off.  The stamp set is Welcome Christmas!  It is a gorgeous card.  Notice the rhinestone at the top of the tree as the star. Isn't that cool?   I also used our new glimmer brads.

This card I actually cased from Jill and Deanna.  I need some Hanukkah cards for co-workers, and this was a great card.  I modified mine using a different ribbon (marina mist taffeta) and a different backdrop to my card (the square lattice die).  The "celebrate" is from the new stamp set Fabulous Phrases from the main idea book.  The menorah is also still available but not listed in the catalog.  It is one of our under $10 stamps.

SUNDAY SHARES

This first card was CASED by my friend Carolyn Serviss.  I love this card.  The only thing I think she changed was the sentiment.  She used the stamp set Fabulous Phrases for the words.  I love it. There are 30 words in that stamp set.  She also used the background stamp Bella Toile and the main stamp set is Studio Sketches, which is new this year. The colors used are So Saffron and Basic Gray.
I made this next card using my Circle #2 Big Shot Die.  I die cut the circle and put the circle aside.  I took the negative and sponged pumpkin pie and daffodil delight inside to make a sun.  The sentiment and the leaves are stamped in basic black from the stamp set Just Believe, which is one of the most popular SU! stamp sets.  This is a really cool way to make a sun.
