DONNA'S 50TH BIRTHDAY-SU! MOCHA MORNING CARD

One of the secretaries in my office - DONNA -at work turned 50 this past Friday.  I thought that deserved a specialty card so I pulled out Mocha Morning Designer Specialty Paper from SU! and matched several of the pieces of DSP with Early Espresso card stock, an embossed sentiment with gold embossing powder and voila....here is her card.

To me, 50 means CELEBRATE BIG and CELEBRATE GOLD!
Here's the inside of the card.

The CELEBRATE is from a NEW stamp set coming out for SU! SALEABRATION January 24th.  I can't wait to show you the whole set.  It's called Outlined Occasions!  It's really cool - I promise you1!

And finally, an envelope using My Digital Studio by SU!

I also printed signs in 8.5 by 11 and hung them in her office and on her door.  We had a great cake and took her out to dinner to the Au Poitin Still in Timonium, Md.

Happy Birthday Donna!

ANOTHER GENTLY FALLING - EMBOSSED IN GOLD

I am in love with this stamp set - GENTLY FALLING!  And I'm in love with the SU! designer specialty paper MOCHA MORNING!  I used both here on this card.

The papers in MOCHA MORNING are incredible.  Some are embossed with gold leafing and some have flocking on them.  The gold just shimmers.  I love every single paper in this set.  In an earlier post, I used this paper to make a card for my aunt's 75th Birthday.

I embossed the leaves on Early Espresso Card Stock and cut them out.  I also embossed the heartfelt from Fabulous Phrases stamp set on the punched label.  Originally, I didn't have the heartfelt there, but the card was a little naked without something there.  I would have put another leaf, but it would have unbalanced the card since I have the embossed acorn on the bottom.
This is the inside of the card.  I embossed the leaf right to the inside.  The acorn was cut out after it was embossed.  The envelope in this photo and the one above also has leaf outlines stamped (with early espresso classic ink) and embossed with gold embossing powder by SU!  I watercolored the leaves with early espresso ink. The sentiment on the inside of the card is from Nature Silhouettes.

I love embossing and am glad that SU! is offering different colors of embossing powder.  Check out my online store and look under shop now - embossing powders.  We have them in cherry cobbler, melon mambo, tangerine tango, wild wasabi - just to name a few colors.  There are lots!  We also have a new pewter embossing powder in the SU! Holiday Mini.

If you click on this photo below you will see the leaves in even more detail.
I promised more Gently Falling, so this is another one.  I'm sure I'll be doing more with this set.  In fact, if you like this card, we can do it at the next class later in September.

75TH BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR MY AUNT ANGIE

A few Saturday's ago I drove up to NJ for my Aunt Angie's 75th Birthday party.  It was some cool extravaganza.  We had the best food, dancing, chatting with relatives, and lots of tributes. My aunt is a great woman.  She has raised a wonderful family and she is such a terrific person. I wanted to post the card I made for her.  I used some NEW SPECIALTY PAPER from SU!  called Mocha Morning.  OMG! You have to get this paper - it's got velvet on some of the pieces, and the others have shimmer. I love this paper.
This paper is really wonderful!  I used a few different pieces and coordinated them with brushed gold card stock.  The numbers were die cut with my SU! Big Shot from Simple Numbers.  I added Gold Glass Glitter to them.  Ooooh, what shine and glitz!
I printed our sentiment on the inside of the card on brushed gold card stock.  It was printed with my home Canon printer and I used My Digital Studio to do it!

Here are some photos from the party.
My mother is having a great time dancing.
My cousin Anne Marie on the right in the black and white dress.  She organized the whole get together with her brothers.
Aunt Angie is in the center of this photo and my mom is on her right.  You can see how young all these people look.
This is my Uncle Charlie - Aunt Angie's husband.
 More fun dancing.
The meal was wonderful.  There were so many people and a lot of tables.
Anne Marie was hysterical with her tribute to her mom. We learned a lot of inside secrets!  lol!
Uncle Charlie and Aunt Angie enjoying the tributes.
