GETTING READY FOR OUR CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

Last year we had our first ever SU! Chinese New Year Celebration.  It was so much fun.  We laughed, we stamped, we ate homemade Chinese food, and we learned the story behind the Chinese New Year and the animals each year represents.  This year will be even more fun.  We are headed to Hsiao-hui's home next Saturday for the fun!  This is the year of the Dragon and it's a very special year!  I'll be sure to post lots of pictures of the event and the projects we make, but in the mean time - here is a quick card I put together to send to my mother.  This card uses an older retired SU! set that is filled with chinese word art. Would love for SU! to bring some of these back in the new Idea book coming out this May.

This paper is the FREE SALEABRATION DSP - Everyday Enchantment - that I earned for FREE  I love how it looks like fans in the background.  I also added some of our NEW SU! pleated ribbon.  Oh, these are so nice to work with.  I used Baja Breeze for this card.

The butterflies are diecut using SU! embosslits and of course I had to add SU! rhinestones.  The chinese word is tranquility.  I am wishing all a year of peace and tranquility, and of course lots of happiness, too.
