THANK YOU CARD FROM HSIAO-HUI

Hsiao-hui is one of the most talented stampers and crafters I know.  The other day I posted the gift I made for her.  This is the Thank You card she gave me.  I told her it wasn't necessary, but honestly...I love getting my hands on anything she creates.  I love her cards.

This card uses the stamp set Elements of Style.  She also did some cool embossing with her Big Shot and the Lattice Embossing Folder.

 The colors she used are fabulous.  I love regal rose.

Hsiao-hui used another machine she has to do the Pop Up Thank You.  I think this is really cool.

VINTAGE SUITE CLASS - FIRST LOOK

Monday and Tuesday nights we had class at my home.  The class has become one of my new favorites - Vintage Suite!  I have really been admiring all of the cards and projects I have been seeing that have a vintage feel to them.  This past April I was a SU! Cruise Achiever and on the cruise there were some great swaps.  The card that I have below is a CASE of one of the other Achiever's cards - wish I had the name of the demo so I could give credit.  I LOVE this card and so too did the attendees at both of the classes.  We made several cards - some of which were pretty intricate.  I will show all of the cards over the next few days.  Enjoy the eye candy!

This first card is one of the most beautiful cards I have ever made.  It uses the stamp set elements of style. The flowers were stamped using ink from the distressing kit by SU! called mahogany.  The ink is so luscious!  The distressing kit is a fabulous kit to own.  It has some neat vintage style ink spots, distressing pieces such as a sanding block and an inking block, some finer files and other cool things to make your projects look vintage.  We used this distress kit and all of our cards.

The inside of the card was stamped after the envelope was stamped.  I wanted a more muted coloring on the inside of the card. And since many of you  write on the inside of your cards, I like how the inside is just a little lighter.  This stamp is also part of the set elements of style.

GREAT CLASS TONIGHT

Tonight I had a FABULOUS CLASS at my house!  I had 5 lovely ladies come for the first time.  They had a wonderful time and we made some great cards. Some of the cards were brand new ideas I came up with .  One was a repeat card from class last week (my all occasions class).  I would like to share these ideas with you also and so I'll do that today and tomorrow.  Almost all of the cards and papers are from the SU! Summer Mini Catalog which is ending on August 31st. So if you see anything you like, you may want to pick it up before it goes. 

Here is the first card that we did.  I used the stamp set sweet scoops. This is a card CASE from Dawn Olchefske - a truly remarkable SU! stamper. She made a similar card with different colors for the SU! Cruise Swap.  And just below is the envelope and inside of the card.  The Birthday sentiment is from the new stamp set in the Idea Book called Perfect Punches.  Do you like how the ice cream scoops are highlighted with dazzling diamonds glitter?  Got that idea from Dawn also!

This card was another card with the same design just a different stamp set.  This set is tropical party - another set in the summer mini catalog.  Love this set.  If you like it too...pick it up by the end of the month.  The dsp in both of these cards is Island Oasis and it is retiring paper as of 8/31.  That will be the last day to get that dsp.  It is really neat to change card stock papers and dsp to make different cards.

Here is another card we made tonight.  This one is a total Maria Pane original.  I used the Island Oasis dsp. (This dsp is so versatile) and the under $10 stamp All a Flutter, which is NOT in the new Idea Book.  This is a single stamp for $6.95, so a good one to add to your collection.  The card stock is old olive and tempting turquoise.  I used smooch paint on the butterfly and 2 whiffs of smooch spray in the gold over the stamped image and the card.  You can see the spritz without enlarging the card, but if you click on this card (or any card) you can see it in greater detail.  The swirl and sentiment are from another Summer mini catalog stamp set called Elements of Style.  That set is in the new idea book.

GARDEN Tea PARTY IDEA from REMARKABLE TEAM EVENT

Fellow Remarkable Team Mate Deb Lever put this wonderful display together at the last Remarkable Team Meeting. She used the Elements of Style Stamp Set as the main theme. Now that summer is upon us, let the garden tea parties begin.
Deb designed cards and invitations, place-mats and even stamped the napkins.
The place setting is an adorable sun hat. What clever ideas. I also love the SU! Big Shot butterfly garland. Great job Deb.

BARELY BANANA AND NIGHT OF NAVY ARE A GREAT COMBO

Here's a no stamping card front. I had fun the other day, just embossing my card stock and dsp. Barely Banana and Night of Navy sure do look good together. I'm going to miss Barely Banana. Thankfully Night of Navy is staying! Similar to the card I made the other day is this one. I also punched a 5 petal flower punch and ran it through the square lattice embossing folder, just like the barely banana card stock. I used one of the brads I got for FREE with the SU! promotion this month (only a few more days left!) for the center of the flower.
Now, I did stamp the inside of the card. How could I not? I love to stamp! I used my new stamp set Elements of Style on the inside. I love this hummingbird! I also put a little glimmer on the inside using some vanilla smooch spray! Oh....we'll be using that new shimmer glitz spray at class a lot more and I'll have a sample from last night's class using the smooch. Wait til you see more!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I'm using a brand new stamp set here called Elements of Style. The humming bird is really gorgeous. Also...The dsp is embossed using the new square lattice embossing folder from the brand new summer mini for SU! My card stock is brilliant blue which is retiring June 30th. You may want to stock up now on retiring card stock. SU! is filling all orders with what they have left and then will make up the rest with textured card stock while available. Don't get caught short. If you love a certain color that is retiring, get it now!

ELEMENTS OF STYLE - NEW STAMP SET

Just before I headed down to Puerto Rico to sail away for the SU! CRUISE to the Southern Caribbean, I participated in Cindy Peterson's Wow Card Swap. There were 25 participants and these are the first batch of cards that I wanted to show you. They all use the SU! set Elements of Style which is a BRAND NEW stamp set in the BRAND NEW Summer Mini Catalog. If you haven't received yours yet, go ahead and click on the link over on the right of this blog and view it. It is fabulous. This first card above was created by Kristina Koch. She used the cracked glass technique and also used the new embossing folder by SU!
This next card is just as gorgeous. Jane White did a fabulous job on this one!
This one above is by Betty Weisbrich and uses bravo burgundy and garden green inks and card stock colors.
I really love this new set and how Kelly Acheson put it together. She used the groom specialty paper and it really made this card elegant!
This last card is by Tiffany Bauer and I love how she attached the mini tag with a tiny safety pin. So clever. I'm not sure if you can tell, but she did highlight the flowers with dazzling diamonds glitter by SU!
