FAVORITE THOUGHTS

In honor of the movie and our night out, here is a card by Lisa Chattergee.  The saying is certainly on target for us.  Well-behaved women seldom make history.  I love it!  This quote is from the stamp set Favorite Thoughts from the summer mini catalog.  Lisa also used the stamp set Tropical Party.  She embossed that cute coconut with the party hat!  So cute!  The paper is Island Oasis.  All of these are available only until August 31st.

GREAT CLASS TONIGHT

Tonight I had a FABULOUS CLASS at my house!  I had 5 lovely ladies come for the first time.  They had a wonderful time and we made some great cards. Some of the cards were brand new ideas I came up with .  One was a repeat card from class last week (my all occasions class).  I would like to share these ideas with you also and so I'll do that today and tomorrow.  Almost all of the cards and papers are from the SU! Summer Mini Catalog which is ending on August 31st. So if you see anything you like, you may want to pick it up before it goes.

Here is the first card that we did.  I used the stamp set sweet scoops. This is a card CASE from Dawn Olchefske - a truly remarkable SU! stamper. She made a similar card with different colors for the SU! Cruise Swap.  And just below is the envelope and inside of the card.  The Birthday sentiment is from the new stamp set in the Idea Book called Perfect Punches.  Do you like how the ice cream scoops are highlighted with dazzling diamonds glitter?  Got that idea from Dawn also!
This card was another card with the same design just a different stamp set.  This set is tropical party - another set in the summer mini catalog.  Love this set.  If you like it too...pick it up by the end of the month.  The dsp in both of these cards is Island Oasis and it is retiring paper as of 8/31.  That will be the last day to get that dsp.  It is really neat to change card stock papers and dsp to make different cards.

Here is another card we made tonight.  This one is a total Maria Pane original.  I used the Island Oasis dsp. (This dsp is so versatile) and the under $10 stamp All a Flutter, which is NOT in the new Idea Book.  This is a single stamp for $6.95, so a good one to add to your collection.  The card stock is old olive and tempting turquoise.  I used smooch paint on the butterfly and 2 whiffs of smooch spray in the gold over the stamped image and the card.  You can see the spritz without enlarging the card, but if you click on this card (or any card) you can see it in greater detail.  The swirl and sentiment are from another Summer mini catalog stamp set called Elements of Style.  That set is in the new idea book.
Pictured below are all of the designs in the Tropical Oasis dsp we used tonight.

Ok, 2 more cards tomorrow.

TROPICAL PARTY CARD BY SUSAN E

Susan Ehrhardt was the guest designer at Carol's home last week. This is the last card from Carol's class. Susan had asked if she could guest demonstrate and I was glad to have her.
Here is the card that Susan designed. It is a laser cut card that she added the designer tropical party to. She also stamped and hand cut the flowers from tropical party.  I love how the envelope matches so well.  Recently, I acquired the share what you love, love what you do stamp in the second photo from a very good friend of mine.  She got it at convention this year and it was exclusively designed for convention attendees.

CAROL HARTLINE'S BEACH TOTES - ADORABLE

I'm not sure if Carol cased these or not, but they are just adorable.  She used the baskets and blooms die to make these 3D party favors for our SU! event last week.  She ran them through the Big Shot with the square lattice die and they look like real woven Beach Baskets.  I love them. Each person who attended the class received one.  The little umbrellas and the key chain flip flops are so cute.  Inside each tote was some Hawaiian candies and coconut almond joy. How perfect!  On the outside are some tropical flowers from the stamp set called Tropical Party.  It is from the Summer Mini Catalog.  If you don't have that set, it is available in clear or wood mount and is available until the end of August.  I love the gorgeous bright colors and note that Carol hand cut the palm branches.  She is so talented. I love her work.  Maybe one of these days I'll convince her to become a demonstrator.

Below is a close up of the one Carol made for me.  I love it Carol.  Great job!
A large basket like this would be so cool to take to the beach, but of course it would have to be filled with a ton of Almond joy bars!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARON LIBERTO

I did a variation of this card in an earlier post. I loved the design so much that I used a similar one for my friend Sharon's birthday card. Sharon's birthday is May 30th which is also my wedding anniversary. I'll post Sharon's card today, so I can post something else on the 30th. Sharon is a good friend of mine who several years ago left the hospital to go work for Hospice. She is a great RN and I'm glad that I still get to stamp with her from time to time.
On the cover of this card, I stamped some Vintage Vogue, a stamp set that was in the spring mini catalog which is still available for purchase even though most of the other items in the mini catalog have retired. I used melon mambo, summer sun and only orange ink colors. All but Melon Mambo are retiring on June 30th.

LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH

Here's another Tropical Party card. I had this card precut from a Fall class and wanted to use it up. I therefore, turned it into a summer card. I used Tropical Party again since I had that stamp set out and went to town stamping and embossing. Do you know what embossing folder I used? Of course you do...it is the new square lattice embossing folder for the Big Shot, exclusive to Stampin Up! That means you can only get this folder from SU! The card stock base is soft suede (so too is the ribbon) and the other card stock is crushed curry and very vanilla. I used a variety of bold bright colors for the stamping.
This is my colorful envelope! Remember to order your retiring card stock, inks, markers, and all before June 30th. But don't wait too long. SU! is not making any new card stock in the retiring colors, so if you want some colors in a color retiring, get it before it is gone. Some card stock will be replaced with textured card stock which I love, but once that is gone, it's gone!

I'M IN FLORIDA TODAY

In honor of my trip to Marco Island Florida today, I decided to use Florida Marlins colors on this card I designed before heading down here. I'm using Bermuda Bay, Only Orange and Whisper white card stock. All but whisper white is retiring, so hurry, don't delay...SU! is selling out of these colors fast. The card base of Bermuda Bay is actually textured paper which I really love. I put the only orange card stock behind the palm tree through my square lattice embossing folder (ok, you all really know how much I love that folder, right?). The paper is new dsp in the mini catalog which compliments this stamp set really well. I'll be in Marco for a couple of days at the SAN conference for work. Oh, they send me such nice places sometimes!
