LISA'S INSPIRATIONAL TOP NOTE TOTE

Here is the last of the projects from Hsiao-hui's Summer Fun Workshop!  This is a project demonstrated by my good friend Lisa Chattergee who is also a SU! demonstrator. I invited Lisa to demo because she is one of the sweetest people I know who is such a talented demonstrator. Lisa said that she got the pattern from USTAMP with Dawn.  I've been a part of that as a guest designer and it is a lot of fun!  I've give some FUN FREE PASSES away to some lucky winners also!

This is a Top Note Tote.  It uses the top note as the top of the tote and I am imagining all sorts of great projects that could be done with this including a picnic basket, easter basket, gift basket, etc.  The tote is decorated with flowers and butterflies that we die cut with the Big Shot using SU! exclusive embosslits.  Lisa had us stain these with SU! ink pads using our daubers and then glitz them up with fine SU! glitter.  Really love these effects Lisa!  The designer paper is Island Oasis that retires with the Summer mini on 8/31 (gosh that is tomorrow!)

Inside the tote, we placed these awesome inspirational statements.  The idea is to pick one of these out each day and go for it.  I love what they say and Lisa must have printed about 100 for each of us.
I like this one that says "Today I will play like a Kid!"  I certainly did that yesterday.  I went to the pool with my family as we celebrate summer pool fun coming to an end this week (thank goodness there are still 8 more pool days to go at our pool club). I also visited my upline Janet Wakeland and stamped/created some cool new cards with brand new Holiday Mini Stamp Sets (new Holiday Mini Catalog starts 9/1;  Summer Mini ending tomorrow 8/31).

This was a great workshop and we are now in the planning stages of the next fun workshop which will be a HOLIDAY FUN WORKSHOP in November.  Hope you can all come, but keep an eye on my website for the details because seats will be limited.  Depending on interest, we may be able to make some kits available. Sorry, there are no kits available for the Summer Fun Workshop. Please see yesterday's post (Hsiao-hui's garden cart), this post (Maria's mini card kit) and this post (Linda's fun slider box) for the other projects.

HSIAO-HUI'S GARDEN CART

I just had to share this adorable garden cart that Hsiao-hui designed.  I love it!  She used so many great SU! die cuts from the Big Shot (mostly the flowers) as well as the scallop circle from the pennant die and the great ribbon punch that is BRAND NEW!  I love these flowers.  Everyone who came to Hsiao-hui's home for the Summer Fun Workshop last Saturday made one of these.  I don't know if you can tell but the old olive in the cart was done using the vintage wallpaper embossing folder.  Isn't it cool?  And the umbrella and the wheels use dsp from the Island oasis dsp that retires on Tuesday8/31.

Here is a close up of the ribbon punch and look at the pink flowers with the red and white polka dot brad.  Those flowers are from the NEW paper flowers you can dye.  Hsiao-hui showed us how to color these and the effect is amazing.  I believe these dyed flowers were done with melon mambo.

Great job Hsiao-hui and thanks so much for showing us how to make this great Garden Cart!

GREAT CARD BY HSIAO-HUI LIN

Here is the card that Hsiao-hui demonstrated to everyone earlier in the season.  She used a stamp set in the Summer Mini Catalog called A Little Bit of Magic. Hsiao-hui also used the cool new mini punches and the 5 flower petal punch that she embossed with the Square Lattice Die for the Big Shot.  Do you recognize the Island Oasis dsp?  Great Job Hsiao-hui and thanks so much for showing us this fancy fold card.

This is just a magical card!

GREAT CLASS TONIGHT

Tonight I had a FABULOUS CLASS at my house!  I had 5 lovely ladies come for the first time.  They had a wonderful time and we made some great cards. Some of the cards were brand new ideas I came up with .  One was a repeat card from class last week (my all occasions class).  I would like to share these ideas with you also and so I'll do that today and tomorrow.  Almost all of the cards and papers are from the SU! Summer Mini Catalog which is ending on August 31st. So if you see anything you like, you may want to pick it up before it goes.

Here is the first card that we did.  I used the stamp set sweet scoops. This is a card CASE from Dawn Olchefske - a truly remarkable SU! stamper. She made a similar card with different colors for the SU! Cruise Swap.  And just below is the envelope and inside of the card.  The Birthday sentiment is from the new stamp set in the Idea Book called Perfect Punches.  Do you like how the ice cream scoops are highlighted with dazzling diamonds glitter?  Got that idea from Dawn also!
This card was another card with the same design just a different stamp set.  This set is tropical party - another set in the summer mini catalog.  Love this set.  If you like it too...pick it up by the end of the month.  The dsp in both of these cards is Island Oasis and it is retiring paper as of 8/31.  That will be the last day to get that dsp.  It is really neat to change card stock papers and dsp to make different cards.

Here is another card we made tonight.  This one is a total Maria Pane original.  I used the Island Oasis dsp. (This dsp is so versatile) and the under $10 stamp All a Flutter, which is NOT in the new Idea Book.  This is a single stamp for $6.95, so a good one to add to your collection.  The card stock is old olive and tempting turquoise.  I used smooch paint on the butterfly and 2 whiffs of smooch spray in the gold over the stamped image and the card.  You can see the spritz without enlarging the card, but if you click on this card (or any card) you can see it in greater detail.  The swirl and sentiment are from another Summer mini catalog stamp set called Elements of Style.  That set is in the new idea book.
Pictured below are all of the designs in the Tropical Oasis dsp we used tonight.

Ok, 2 more cards tomorrow.
