BUTTERFLY MINI CARD

I have a cute mini card for you this am and then a little later I'll have a special birthday card for a friend post (watch for it just a little later this am! - I want her to have a chance to get it in the mail today!) This card uses the butterfly embosslit by SU! for the Big Shot.  I also embossed the backgrounds with my embossing folder!
Very quick and easy.
The envelope is stamped and also uses some of the butterflies I die cut.

GARDEN Tea PARTY IDEA from REMARKABLE TEAM EVENT

Fellow Remarkable Team Mate Deb Lever put this wonderful display together at the last Remarkable Team Meeting. She used the Elements of Style Stamp Set as the main theme. Now that summer is upon us, let the garden tea parties begin.
Deb designed cards and invitations, place-mats and even stamped the napkins.
The place setting is an adorable sun hat. What clever ideas. I also love the SU! Big Shot butterfly garland. Great job Deb.

BLACK AND WHITE CARD

For the RHR we had a challenge to come up with a totally black and white card. I stamped the Belle Toile stamp in basic black on ultra smooth white card stock layered to basic black. I stamped thanks on an oval layered with a punched scallop oval and the butterflies are die cut from the wonderful wings embosslit for the Big Shot exclusive to SU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANA

Diana Hnat's birthday was March 3rd and I wanted to share with you the card that I made for her. I used orchid opulence card stock and certainly celery designer paper. I love these 2 colors together. Diana loves spring and since we are having such a long winter here, I thought I would make the card with spring in mind. To me spring is the birds and the butterflies. I die cut the butterflies from the beautiful butterflies die for the Big Shot and embossed them with the elegant bouquet embossing folder. Swipe some white craft ink over the butterflies and the embossed areas really "pop." My ink color choice was rich razzleberry - one of the IN COLOR inks for this year.
Inside the card I stamped on whisper white card stock. I used a birthday phrase from the stamp set On Your Birthday, and the flowers are from Friends 24-7.
I also ran the certainly celery card stock through the Big Shot with the embossing folder so it too was textured. Diana was so excited to see that and thought that was a clever idea to run that paper through the Big shot also. I used the embossing folder Finial Press for that. The bird is from the stamp set Friends 24-7 also. The bold Happy Birthday is a former under $10 stamp that I just had to keep.

RemARKable Going Green Blog Tour - DAY 2

USING THE DICTIONARY
Now with so many accessing the Internet, it is a wonder anyone uses books anymore, especially the dictionary. My friend Sandi Haertig was at work last week and someone was getting ready to dump their dictionary. Immediately Sandi said hold onto that, "I'll take it!" She knew just what to use it for....the latest trend now in card making and paper crafting - making flowers and using it for other die cut images. Over the weekend at Rhodes Grove, I decided to die cut with Sandi and use those dictionary pages. I made the above card for my mom for Mother's Day.
We die cut the butterflies using our beautiful butterflies die for the Big Shot. The paper from the dictionary is somewhat thin, so we backed it with white ultra smooth card stock. Sandi also had a great idea to find words we wanted to use and die cut over those words.
I chose the words love and lovely because they describe my mother perfectly. I also took a sponge dauber and sponged some lavender lace ink on the butterflies to give them a vintage feel.
Here is a close up of the flower I made. I made it using the larger new flower punch and breaking the fibers in my card stock with a SU! bone folder, I was able to separate the card stock into 2 so that I had this soft paper texture. These flowers look like prima flowers at a fraction of the cost.
The dots above are rub ons from the SU! Easter Egg kit. I certainly am getting a lot of mileage out of that kit. It has been so well-worth it. And to be able to recycle the dictionary - oh what a great idea.

GREAT FRIEND

I'm in love with this stamp set and this butterfly die. This new stamp set debuts today. It is a must for all of you stampers. I stamped it once on each of these envelopes and then stamped again twice. It looks like the butterfly is in flight. This is certainly one of my new favorite sets. I also like the for you stamp in script. It is really elegant. I've used these 3D butterflies before. They are an exclusive BIG SHOT die cut from Shelli Gardner at SU!
