RemARKable Open House Blog Tour - DAY 1

WELCOME TO MY SU! STUDIO!
I chose to use Totally Tess for my featured stamp set for this tour. I love her! She is a stamper and a crafter like me and she looks fabulous! She could really be called Marvelous Maria or Super Scrappinriri! Then of course she would be me. Don't you all love her stamp bag? She's got her stamps, her wheel, scissors, markers and stamps. So cool! And you know what? This crafty lady can dress in any clothes she wants. I used the Welcome Neighbor paper pack that I got FREE for Sale-a-bration, to dress her. I love those papers. I just stamp her image wherever I want to use the paper for the clothes and then I cut out the clothes and fit them to her. It is actually pretty easy when you have such a great designer paper pack. I also uses that paper pack on the house and for the squirrel from the Love Bandit set.
My house opens up and has lots of note cards inside of it. I think you could put some craft tools inside like scissors, markers, adhesive, and more and give this house to your favorite crafter.
I put a lot of cards and envelopes inside and it still can hold more. I love this house. By the way...it was really easy to put together. One of the RemARKables - Jill Hilliard - actually made the pattern for all of us that she modified from a package she got from Boyd's Bears where we visited in December for our RAD trip (RAD = Remarkably Achieving Demonstrators). You can have the PDF file if you want to make your own house. All you need to do is sign up for one of my next two classes - Home is Where the Heart is (2/12 in Timonium, Md) or Mardi Gras Party/Class (2/23 in Parkville, Md) or order my Welcome Home Kit (email me for info) and you will also get it free. This PDF is something everyone will want...it will have the pattern for the house and all different kinds of homes and ideas you can make. Follow this tour and you will see a lot of different homes and their contents.

This is another view of my house. There are so many ways to decorate these and I have my opening at the roof top but you can easily modify it and have your opening at the sides or the front, even making a door if you wanted.
Here is a close up of the roof. Since my house is a SU! studio, I need to make sure you know that if you sign up under me for SU! you will receive some great gifts. I'll even give you the patterns as a free Gift and more. Email me for details (email link in blog header above where it says email me!)
Do you like the chimney? I've got that great SU! logo there and mail flying right out of it.
Another look at Tess - this time close up. You can also see some of the great designer paper in the paper pack.
By the way...the hearts were made with the brand new SU! mini heart punch. They are so cool and the punch has that new SU! design that closes up flat for easy storage.

Now, I couldn't publish this post without showing you my son's version of the house! He had to put together a diorama for school based on a Newbury Medal book. He read Rabbit Hill and chose to make this scene. The house was perfect! The pattern worked fabulously!
I also love JP's arteork for the title of the book. His R has rabbit ears and his Hill is cool, too!
This whole scene and the premise of the book is that the animals are well taken care of by the new owners of the house. They have food for all of the animals. Don't you love JP's house? So this house can be used for anything you want.

  2. Dear Maria,

What a great idea, you have done a fantastic version and only wish I didn't live in Australia so I could make the class. Will the template ever be available to us Overseas??

  3. Hi Maria,

I've been a follower of your blog for quite some time & am also a fellow demonstrator. I'm actually on the remARKable team (level 5) too from the Windy City area (Chicago)!

I'd love to find out how to make your adorable SU Studio for my own stampin' room. Can you email me personally. :)
