MOVERS AND SHAPERS Z FOLD CHRISTMAS CARD

Here are several images of a Christmas Card that I taught my stampers to do at my Big Shot class. I'm not sure who invented this way to fold and pass through the Big Shot to only get half of the ornament, but it is very clever. Below are a few different views of the card. Recipe below.

Recipe:
Stamps: Delightful Decorations, Four the Holiday
ink: Real Red, white craft
Card stock - Real Red, glossy white (stamp the ornament on glossy white and punch out with the ornament punch that coordinates with the ornament from the movers and shapers holiday.
designer paper: Christmas Cocoa specialty paper
other: Big Shot Movers and shapers, chocolate chip 5/8 inch grosgrain ribbon

BIG SHOT TOP NOTE MEDALLION

I CASED this card from Kimberly Van Diepen. She die cut the Big Shot Top Note by turning it every 45 degrees and repeatedly cutting it until she got this design (in kraft above). This is really cool to cut it this way. I also die cut the circle from the Big Shot Circles die and ran it through the Big shot using an embossing folder called Finial press. The Thanks is an embosslit. The designer paper is Thoroughly Modern dsp and the ribbon is kraft taffeta. Absolutely elegant card. I'm going to send this card to my friend Pat Nuckels who made me spinach soup while I was sick. Thanks Pat.

SNOWBUDDIES AND CHRISTMAS COCOA

I really love this new hostess set Snowbuddies. It is great for Christmas and the Holidays, including the New Year. I stamped the snowman on watercolor paper. Once I water colored him I cut him out and put him on some Christmas cocoa designer paper bordered by chocolate chip card stock. The snowflakes come from the same stamp set and are stamped in chocolate chip ink on a kraft card stock background. The ribbon is chocolate chip taffeta. Mmmm, time to get some hot cocoa out.

GRATEFUL GREETINGS FOR AUTUMN

I love our SU! IN COLORS. I try to use them a lot. I used two of my favorites on this card I did with my stamping group a few weeks ago. I cased it from someone and I think it was my fellow demo and friend Lisa C. This card uses crushed curry and soft suede. The stamped wheat is from the SU! stamp set Autumn Days. I used my new IN COLOR stampinwrite markers to color them in. I used the background stamp sanded and the new verses set from the mini catalog also called Grateful Greetings. I also used the 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 square punches.

GETTING READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS

If you are thinking about he holidays this is an adorable treat gift bag that SU! makes. They come 5 to a pack for only $3.95 (#115690). All you need to do is add the embellishments. Put a pack or two in your next order.

CRAFTING WITH SU! NEW SHIMMER PAINTS

I wanted to share with you my experience with the new SU! Shimmer Paints. First let me say that I love them and at the truly affordable price buy 2 of each one. I die cut this card using my Big Shot movers and shapers die with the curvy label die. The card stock base is chocolate chip and the paper is the new designer paper Christmas Cocoa. The snowflake was punched out with the snowflake punch and I brushed the shimmer paint on it with my sponge dauber. Do you want to know what else I shimmered? If you look closely, or if you click on the card above you will see that I also added shimmer to my white taffeta ribbon. Oooh, the holidays never looked so good. Thank you SU!

BUILD A BEAR BIRTHDAY CARD

Today is my sister Teresa's Birthday. I made a card for her. In honor of her birthday, I'm posting this card. I used my Build A Bear stamp set and stamped the bear and his birthday hat. I water colored him to match the card stock which is only orange and bermuda bay. I ran the swirly wheel over the bermuda bay card stock and then textured the card with the Big Shot. If you swipe white craft ink on top, the polka dots are more pronounced.

Happy Birthday Teresa.

GREAT BIG SHOT PROJECT MUST SEE - using pillow box die

Last evening we had a Holiday Card making class for World Card Making day. Class was held at Carol Hartline's lovely home. When we walked in we were told we could each have one of these lovely creations. These are absolutely fabulous and took a lot of work.
These are paper mugs made with the Pillow Box die for the BigShot. Because the class was
holiday themed, Carol made them holiday style.
Above is a photo of Carol showing how she made them. She said she found directions online.
Pat Nuckels is admiring hers. Carol said that you die cut 3 pillow boxes and trim them. Attach them together and reinforce with sticky strip. There is a 4 inch double circle on the inside to hold the goodies.
Here is a close up of the hand made mug. Carol really took a lot of time with these creations. She gave them to everyone who came to class and has a few left for anyone who places an order over $65 for her workshop. All local orders are due in Monday am. These are really lovely Carol. Thank you so much. I'm going to make a few for teacher holiday gifts. These would also be great for Birthday gifts, Easter gifts and get well gifts.

OCTOBER 1st HALLOWEEN CARDS

How about some Halloween for the first day of October? This holiday is the second most decorated holiday next to Christmas - or so I am told. I decorate for Halloween and most everyone on my street does too. I send Halloween cards to my relatives, do you? While these aren't the exact cards I'm sending, they are great samples. I used the stamp sets From the Crypt, Holiday Haunts and Teeny Tiny Wishes. Notice the ribbon above is wide black grosgrain which is new this year (love it!) and I placed elegant eggplant rick rack ribbon from the SU! Orchard pack on top. Love this designer ribbon.
I embossed the skull with white embossing powder on basic black card stock. I used rhinestone brads for the eyes and our new modern label punch. The background on the cards are embossed with texturz plates for the Big Shot.
