THANK YOU FOR A FRIEND

This is a card I made for my good friend Sandi.  She is so sweet. She went to the SU! convention in Salt Lake City a couple of weeks ago and brought me some great goodies back.  I was so happy she was able to go since I was back here in Baltimore working and unable to go this year.  Some of the things Sandi brought me were a great scrapbook/craft tote, a laptop bag, some exclusive Christmas ornaments, some SU! exclusive merchandise and a SU! t-shirt. So to thank her, I sent this card off to her.  She should be getting it today.  I used greenhouse gala dsp from SU! that I embossed with the Big Shot.  I also embossed the card base which is done in one of my new favorite colors from the new colors SU! introduced this year called Marina Mist. I embossed the card base with the square lattice die. The taffeta ribbon (oh, you need to get this!  it is awesome!) is also in marina mist and is a deeper blue than the bashful blue taffeta.  I added a sticky back pearl (SU! just introduced these in July and they really are an added touch and so easy to use) and stamped thanks using the new stamp set Perfect Punches, which coordinates with our exclusive SU! punches.  I used stampinwrite markers so that I could get different colors on the stamp.  The highlighting color is peach parfait which is a new IN COLOR this year.

FABULOUS NEW STYLE CARD - T SLIDER BY LINDA

This Amazing T slide card was demonstrated by Linda Kincaid, one of my downline, at Carol's home a week ago Friday.  I've been saving it to show you because I had to upload it and take pictures of it in action.  Linda did such a nice job on this card and everyone really loved it. She also included the directions with the card for those who want to put it in their flip file for techniques.  It is a really cool card to have.  All you need to do is pull the tab on the side and the card flips open with a really neat inside.
Here is the card as it is starting to slide open.  Linda used some of the NEW IN COLORS - poppy parade, peach parfait and pear pizzaz.  The double sided designer paper from SU! is greenhouse gala. It is really fabulous paper. The lucky you is a level 1 hostess stamp from the set Afterthoughts. You can earn that set for free with any qualifying workshop order.

You get a good idea of how the card works when you see it opened a little more.  The dsp on the right is also from greenhouse gala. The sentiment ice cream, presents and cake, oh my is from the stamp set Birthday Bliss which is a really cool and inexpensive set to have.

Here is the front again.  The flower is from Friends Never Fade and the Birthday Celebrations is from Upsy Daisy.  I love this card Linda, you did an amazing job!
Here is the envelope!  I love Linda's coloring and the use of Crystal Effects!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HSIAO-HUI!

My down line Hsiao-hui is one of the sweetest people I know. I wanted to make her a very sweet birthday card. Her birthday was this past Thursday the 15th and I didn't get to see her. This card uses the brand new IN COLOR PEAR PIZZAZ as the base card stock that I embossed with the square lattice die. I love this new in color. Coordinating colors are chocolate chip and baja breeze. The ribbon is old olive satin. The sentiment is from a new hostess set entitled Occasional Quotes which was punched out with the word window punch. The dsp is greenhouse gala and it is amazing paper with some great colors. All of the card stock and even the dsp is embossed with exclusive SU! embossing folders for the Big Shot! The little butterflies are from the beautiful wings embosslit also exclusive to SU!
On the envelope I stamped flowers from fast and fabulous and shimmered them with the brand new all over smooch. The greenery is from just believe - a great new set in the SU! idea book. The happy birthday sentiment is from perfect punches - which should be a must on every one's list. Notice that I put 2 tiny rhinestones (yes these are brand new to SU!) on the swirl.

I hope Hsiao-hui that you had a great birthday. You deserve the Best! See you soon!

RemARKable New Catalog Blog Tour - Post 2 - Playing wth new Designer Paper and New Colors

GREENHOUSE GALA - GREAT NEW DSP FROM SU!
I'm loving the new dsp from SU! called Greenhouse Gala. What cheerful paper and it matches the Great Friends Never Fade stamp set. The colors are so vibrant and many are new this year with the color rennovation (for more details see sidebar on retrofit). I also love the new tiny taffeta ribbon. It is so delicate. The card stock above is daffodil delight and wild wasabi.
You're on my Mind sentiment is from the stamp set upsy daisy.
Here is some baja breeze and peach parfait card stock. The colors are amazing and I've used the same template pretty much for all of the cards.

This is one of my favorite new colors of card stock - pear pizzaz (the more green color). The dsp and the taffeta are early espresso. Can you say stunning?

The cards below use baja breeze card stock. It is really cool that the dsp matches so many card stock colors.
The inside of the card below uses the Friends Never Fade stamp set which is a new fave of mine. I also used the square lattice die for the embossing. This die is exclusive to SU!
This last card below uses the same template I just oriented the card a little differently. Amazing how orientation changes the whole look.

This dsp is incredible and there will be a lot of uses for this paper. I like how it matches so many of our new colors. You may notice some other demos on the blog tour also using this paper. It is a great pack to have and there really are so many great ideas on the tour. So when done here head on over to Michele's blog and continue along the tour.
