HERE'S WHAT THE MAY MY PAPER PUMPKIN LOOKS LIKE! CHECK THIS OUT

I'm thrilled with the MAY MY PAPER PUMPKIN kit.  What a deal.  And I LOVE receiving something new and fun and exciting in the mail every month!
This month's kit is SO AWESOME!  Make a SMASH type book or make cards with it.  You can do anything.  BUT BE SURE TO SIGN UP HERE to receive MY PAPER PUMPKIN monthly.

Here's the excerpt from the SU! BLOG from the concept artist:
When I was helping to design this kit I knew I wanted to make something that would be a fun and easy way to use Instagram photos.  (I absolutely love Instagram photos and I loved putting this little mini album together using my growing stash.) After I finished my cute little album, I started playing around with other ways to use this kit. Here is what I came up with!

These cards were super-simple to put together. I used the Woodgrain Background Stamp to add some texture to the Whisper White Cardstock, added a few ink splatters, then stamped the little arrow stamp. I didn’t want the “Love this” on the card, so when I stamped it I just used a piece of tape to cover the word on the ink pad, then pulled it off before I stamped it on the paper. You can also use a Stampin’ Write Marker to mask out an unwanted piece of the stamp. I love the Polaroid frames in this kit! They look so cute on these cards with a little washi tape on top and the punched out heart in the middle.  So simple and fun.

I also thought it would be fun to do a little scrapbooking with this kit. I took my favorite photos from the month of February and put together a few pages to remember our February. I used My Digital Studio to add some journaling to the photos and the paper from the kit, but other than that, everything I used came from the kit. I love how it turned out! The “Best year yet” card came in the mail for my birthday from Anthropologie. I love including things from my everyday life in my scrapbooking. I know I will be using the Love This arrow stamp a ton in other memory keeping projects I am working on.  It is just such a fun and versatile little stamp.

To get the printing on the cute paper that comes with the kit, I just ran it through the printer. I made the quoted tab in My Digital Studio. As you can see, I had a ton of fun adding the little tickets and words all over my pictures. I love how the kit comes with so many.
I hope you guys have as much fun playing with your Paper Pumpkin as I did!

MY PAPER PUMPKIN MEETS THE TEA SHOPPE

I'm in love with all of the MY PAPER PUMPKIN STAMP kits by SU!  They are so awesome and you can use the contents of the kits in so many ways.  I used the card and envelope and embellishments from kit no. 1 for another card I was sending to a friend.  I love the Hey There Friend stamp!  So cool and the font is great!  I stamped a tea cup from the TEA SHOPPE stamp set and a few other stamps from that set and then added the hearts from the  ITTY BITTIES stamp set.

You know me, I love to stamp the envelopes and coordinate with the card.
I used another MY PAPER PUMPKIN STAMP - last month's set - the SERIOUSLY and love you
(actually the smaller stamp said "love your guts!"  and I cut off the r and guts, to get "love you" - but now thinking about it, I should have left it, love your guts is actually funny).

I sent this card to another BFF - Mary Jo - so she would know I'm thinking of her. She loves to go to tea and we haven't been in awhile.  Mary Jo - we need to go soon!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD FOR LINDA K

One of my BFF's - Linda Kincaid - had a birthday in April.  I mailed her a card that I think I already posted.  However, I made this card also.  This one was full and had dimension, so I saved it to give it to her when all of the Stampin Sistah's met to celebrate her birthday a few weeks ago.
The HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY greeting is from the current SU! stamp set Loving Thoughts.  I embossed the Baja Breeze Card stock with the SU! Lattice embossing folder.  I also did some heat embossing with sterling silver embossing powder on the inside of the card.  The flower on the outside is from the POSIES kit from the SU! OCCASIONS catalog which is ending May 31st.  It's a great kit and it has an adorable stamp that comes with it also.  Notice also that I used some of my favorite SU! silver glimmer paper and a clear SU! faceted brad.  Luckily these are both carrying over into the NEW SU! IDEA BOOK.

The envelope was made with my SU! Scoring Board and Diagonal Plate.  The designer paper and the border punch used on the white card stock was not SU! but everything else I used for the card and envelope was.

A NEW TWIST FOR UPCOMING FOURTH OF JULY - SU! CRAFTING IDEAS!

This is right from the SU! blog and I had to share because this is a really cool idea that I want to share.  Fourth of July will be here before you know it!

Fourth of July is nearly here! Hurray!
Written by Cindy B.
Sr. Staff Writer for SU!

I have recently been trying to think of a different way to celebrate this fantastic holiday. I love the classic red, white, and blue theme, the fireworks, the parades, and the picnics—but I have been wondering if there wasn’t something that could be added to bring even more fun and national pride into the celebration.

I’ll also confess to a bit of nerdiness: I love maps of the United States (especially the ones with infographics regarding industry, agriculture, state bird, state flower, etc.).  I could stare at them for hours. (Don’t judge me!) Anyway—the idea of bringing in the US map and state maps came to mind.
So—how about this for a Fourth of July bash? Serve food from the 50 states—Texas chili, Georgia peach pie, Nebraska corn, etc. – (complete with cute signs, of course). Make state decorations using MDS downloads, as I did here:

The kids can play state bingo. (This card was made using MDS digital downloads):

Serve soda pop decorated with states and capitals labels.

Those featured here just have state labels (made using MDS and cardstock), but you get the idea! Guests pair up according to their state and capital, e.g. Michigan finds the person with the Lansing label; then they play a Find-Who’s-Been-to-the-National-Landmark game. Teams consult with other players to find out who at the party has visited Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge, the White House, the St. Louis arch, etc.
First pair with a full card gets a prize!

I’m working on a US map right now as another decoration for my Fourth of July party. I will share it with you in an upcoming post.
So . . . time to get to work! The celebration starts just six weeks from now, so we encourage you to begin now designing your Independence Day/Canada Day party swag . . . using MDS and Stampin’ Up! products, of course! (Get the Nifty Fifty Kit here and/or the Providence of Provinces Kit here.)
