CAROL HARTLINE'S BEACH TOTES - ADORABLE

I'm not sure if Carol cased these or not, but they are just adorable.  She used the baskets and blooms die to make these 3D party favors for our SU! event last week.  She ran them through the Big Shot with the square lattice die and they look like real woven Beach Baskets.  I love them. Each person who attended the class received one.  The little umbrellas and the key chain flip flops are so cute.  Inside each tote was some Hawaiian candies and coconut almond joy. How perfect!  On the outside are some tropical flowers from the stamp set called Tropical Party.  It is from the Summer Mini Catalog.  If you don't have that set, it is available in clear or wood mount and is available until the end of August.  I love the gorgeous bright colors and note that Carol hand cut the palm branches.  She is so talented. I love her work.  Maybe one of these days I'll convince her to become a demonstrator.

Below is a close up of the one Carol made for me.  I love it Carol.  Great job!
A large basket like this would be so cool to take to the beach, but of course it would have to be filled with a ton of Almond joy bars!

BRAND NEW SU! DOTTED SCALLOP RIBBON PUNCH IS DELIGHTFUL!

This is our BRAND NEW SU! dotted scallop Ribbon Punch!  It is really cool!  Did you know that you can make ribbon with this punch?  And you can make some cool embellishments also.  Check out the card my downline and good friend Linda Kincaid demonstrated at class at Carol's home last Friday below. Punches are really a quick and easy way to add interest, dimension, and color to your cards, tags, and scrapbook pages. You can glue punched shapes directly onto your projects or layer a sheet of card stock that has been punched over a coordinating card stock for a reverse effect.  Our SU! punches are great because they...

■ have a new, sleeker body style
■ have larger surface area offers precise cutting and leverage
■ Lock to store
■ They can be stored in our Punch Caddy

Pictured here is the great card that Linda designed. She used the NEW stamp set Aviary for this card.  Her colors of choice are daffodil delight (BRAND NEW), concord crush (brand new) and ultrasmooth white.  The punched paper ribbon is really cool!  And I really LOVE all of our new Taffeta Ribbon colors.  This one is daffodil delight.

The inside sentiment is from a brand new set called word play.  It has some really wonderfully designed sentiments!
The card is not complete without a stamped envelope!  Thanks Linda for a wonderful card.  I will certainly be casing this card in several different colors, especially since the NEW SU! taffeta ribbon colors are so gorgeous!  Check them all out in my website store.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY NEPHEW CARD

This is the card I gave my nephew for his birthday.  He turned 2 this year.  I used some dsp from another kit and the BUILD A BEAR DIE  from SU!   We bought him some books, some playdoh and an adorable little baseball outfit so I wanted the bear to wear an outfit similar in colors to the one we bought for him.  I love how the bear comes a little bit off of the card and how he is holding the birthday wishes that comes from the SU! hostess set occasional quotes.  The inside of the card is a happy birthday sentiment that was an under $10 SU! stamp last year.  Below is a photo of my nephew with his candyland cake.

Happy Birthday!
note:  tomorrow I have another card from Carol's workshop
a neat card using the ribbon punch and demonstrated by
my downline - Linda Kincaid.

ANOTHER CARD FROM CAROL'S CLASS - PEDALING PAST

I promised more cards using the set Pedaling Past and so here you go. This is another one of the cards we made at Carol's on Friday night. The colors in this card aren't brand new but the stamp set and the designer paper is. I used Pumpkin Pie card stock for the card base because it coordinates with this awesome travel paper from the SU! summer mini catalog called Travel Journal. The colors in the dsp are pumpkin pie, bashful blue and night of navy. I embossed the card stock and the dsp with the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, exclusive to SU! I also want to point out that the centers of the wheels are vintage brads. This is such a great embellishment for the bicycle stamped on a Big Shot die cut scallop circle that is "popped off" the card with dimensionals. The ribbon is bashful blue taffeta. Check out our new Idea Book because SU! has added lots of great new taffeta ribbon.

Here is a tip - if you brush the embossed images with white craft ink, they really pop off the page. I did that with the card above.

Now one of the really cool stamps in the stamp set Pedaling Past is this border stamp. I stamped it twice - once above the thinking with you and once below it. I just turned it different directions. I would get this stamp set for the border stamp alone, but the bikes in the set and the sentiment - enjoy the journey - are really what also sells the set. By the way...they sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set - which is another great new SU! stamp set in the New Idea Book that is very versatile. By the way, this is the envelope for the card, but you could stamp something very similar on the inside of the card. I know I would find this "Happy Mail" if it came stamped like this to my house!
Lastly, since we focused on the New Color Coach at this class, I wanted to show you how well these colors really go together. And what is really nice, is that this card would work for a male or female so that if you wanted to send a thinking of you, happy birthday, best wishes, good luck, happy retirement or just a note...this is a great card. There is also a tricycle in the set so you can make a child's card, and there is a bicycle built for two if you need to do an anniversary or wedding card. And there is a great Thank You sentiment also.

At only $14.95 (#120069) for clear mount or $19.95 for wood mount, this is a great set to own.

PRINTED PETALS, NEW COLOR COACH, and a SAMPLE from CLASS at CAROL's

Last night our local stamping group met at the home of Carol Hartline for a fun Tropical Party and an introduction to the new catalog and Idea book by SU! One of the cards we stamped utilized the new color coach by SU! (see the previous post for info on the color coach). This card and envelope was stamped with the new stamp set called Printed Petals on our 3.5 by 5 cards and envelopes that you can buy together. I looked at my color coach to find some brand new colors from SU! that the stampers would enjoy and would make them feel happy. I found them in the New IN COLORS - poppy parade and peach parfait and a new permanent color called daffodil delight.
The New Color Coach is great because it is utilized just like the paint cards you get at the shop. I pulled these three colors out and saw that they really looked cool together. The largest flower has some peach parfait new poly ribbon and the sentiment is from the set Just Believe and is stamped in another new color called Concord Crush.
The New Color Coach is really great because it also gives some cards where you can add these combinations you like and make up yourself so that you know they go well together and can use them again. I just colored them in on the circles with my stampinwrite markers but you could alternatively punch out 1/2 inch circles from the card stock and attach them. The stampers really thought this color coach was cool and most of my stampers have ordered one already. The color coach can be unscrewed and you can add new color combos and new papers. The coach does come with color design suggestions on the back of each card so if you are not sure which colors work well together, just use the SU! suggested ones.
This is what the new stamp set looks like. What I love in this set is that the tiny flowers on the bottom left can be used with our new stamp set itty bitty bits and the new tiny buttons and punches that match it.

AROUND THE BLOCK SCRAPBOOKING

I held a class for our Youth at Church on Weds. night - it was called Around the Block Scrapbooking. This is the project I showed them. I basically "scrapbooked" highlights of our cruise this past May right onto the blocks.
I used a scrapbooking kit from SU! that I got a few years ago called Just Delightful. The colors were perfect and using a scrapbooking kit made it very easy especially when there are die cut stickers in the kit. The paper is gorgeous too!
The blocks are our decor elements blocks. You can get 4 of these for about $10 before s/h and tax. So each block is just under $3.
We have a new kit in our Idea Book this year....it is sticky back pearls. I love these really tiny ones. They were perfect for the centers of the flowers. After I photographed the blocks I actually went back and added more pearls to the larger flowers also.
My son learned how to do handstands in the water this past year, so no matter where he goes, he is doing them and the latest thing he can do is back flips. He's really quite good. He is actually taking a class that teaches these and other strength building and hand/eye coordination with his best buddy Ben.
Some of the die cuts in the kit were pretty large so I used our boho blossoms punch and punched out some flowers also.
This will make a nice addition to my desk at work. I am using the new travel paper in the summer mini to do highlights of our trip to Rome. These blocks go really quickly and make really nice gifts also.

A FLOWER FOR ALL SEASONS AND JUST BELIEVE

I just sent this card to my sister Christina to let her know that I am thinking of her. She is such a great sister and a dear friend. I embossed some soft suede card stock with the Brand New Embossing Folder Vintage Wallpaper from SU! I love this embossing! Then I sprayed some white card stock with vanilla smooch -oooh the glimmer is amazing! Next I stamped one of the stamps from a flower for all seasons and I colored it in with stampinwrite markers.
The flowers on the inside are from the Just Believe Stamp Set which is on its way to becoming the number one stamp set sold from the new SU! idea book. Email me to find out how to get your idea book or to place an order for any of the wonderful SU! products you see here.

WOW! CHRISTMAS CARD CLASS

Last night I held a really great wow! Christmas Card class in my home. Everyone had a great time. We had some Christmas music on (can you believe that?) and I had baked homemade Christmas cookies. In just 6 months, that great holiday will be here, so it is never too early to start making Holiday cards. The attendees got to make some really great cards that I'll show you over a few blog posts. This card is one of my favorites because it uses a new IN COLOR POPPY PARADE. I love this shade of red. It is so bright and cheery.
The poinsettia really pops on the card with this ink. Do you see how we used the brand new SU! sticky back pearls for the center of the main poinsettia? As an added surprise, I gave everyone in the class a FREE Pack of these. The name of the stamp set is Christ is Born. I actually bought this set just for the script Christ is Born stamp alone - it is so gorgeous!
The card stock base is garden green and it really goes well with the poppy parade. All of the sentiments also come with this stamp set. If you click on the top card you will see that we embossed the poppy parade card stock with the square lattice die.

My next Christmas card class is at the end of August. I also have a lot of other card classes coming up and they are listed on my SU! website. Hope to see you soon and an early Merry Christmas!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA MURPHY

Here is another birthday card. This time, it's for another very sweet person - my friend Linda Murphy. Linda's also a July Birthday! I used the elegant lines embossing folder which is BRAND NEW and ran baja breeze card stock through the Big Shot. I also punched out some of our Brand New Punches - including the large scallop circle. I used a rhinestone also.
The Happy Birthday is stamped in rich razzleberry and is part of the curly cute stamp set. The butterfly is one of the under 10 stamps in the summer mini catalog and is really a great stamp to have.

Linda, I hope your Birthday was truly wonderful!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HSIAO-HUI!

My down line Hsiao-hui is one of the sweetest people I know. I wanted to make her a very sweet birthday card. Her birthday was this past Thursday the 15th and I didn't get to see her. This card uses the brand new IN COLOR PEAR PIZZAZ as the base card stock that I embossed with the square lattice die. I love this new in color. Coordinating colors are chocolate chip and baja breeze. The ribbon is old olive satin. The sentiment is from a new hostess set entitled Occasional Quotes which was punched out with the word window punch. The dsp is greenhouse gala and it is amazing paper with some great colors. All of the card stock and even the dsp is embossed with exclusive SU! embossing folders for the Big Shot! The little butterflies are from the beautiful wings embosslit also exclusive to SU!
On the envelope I stamped flowers from fast and fabulous and shimmered them with the brand new all over smooch. The greenery is from just believe - a great new set in the SU! idea book. The happy birthday sentiment is from perfect punches - which should be a must on every one's list. Notice that I put 2 tiny rhinestones (yes these are brand new to SU!) on the swirl.

I hope Hsiao-hui that you had a great birthday. You deserve the Best! See you soon!
