LABEL LOVE

Do you love labels?  What about punches?  What about labels and coordinating punches?  Well, here's a card for you.  I stamped a sentiment from LABEL LOVE stamp set by SU! and punched it out with the coordinating SU! label punch.  This is a card for my mom. It's bright and cheery and she needs it. She'll be having surgery in early or mid October.

I also added some punched butterflies.  The smaller butterfly is on special this month with SU!  The ribbon coordinates with the label color and is one of the current in colors by SU! MIDNIGHT MUSE.

MDS MONDAY - HSIAO HUI'S HALLOWEEN PARTY INVITE AND HALLOWEEN CARD

Fall is just around the corner.  And that means...Halloween is following right behind.  We are going to have Hsiao hui's Halloween Craft Party again.   It's been a few years since we all dressed up and did some crafts.  We've tried some new ideas, like Chinese New Year, Valentine's parties, tea parties, and more.  This year, we thought it would be fun to dress up again.  We are hoping we will have some cool costumes and some great fun.  Well...if it is at Hsiao hui's home, you can bet it is going to be great!  In past years, her home has been so cleverly decorated, and she's had some really nifty Halloween foods to share.  We are all looking forward to a fun evening.

MORE MAGNIFICENT MAPLE

Last week, the Remarkable Stampers hosted a SU! Stamp of the Month Blog Tour.  I purchased the MAGNIFICENT MAPLE stamp (CLICK HERE to view it again).  Here's another card I made using this great stamp.  I also used the chevron punch (LOVE IT!) and the lattice border embossing folder.  Love how clear and crisp this card turned out.  It's off to a friend of mine just as Fall is starting to settle in.

FOR THE BIRDS - LISA CHATTERJEE DEMONSTRATES THE NEW FLIP CARD FRAMELITS FOR SU!

My friend Lisa demonstrated the flip flop cards you can make with the NEW SU! flip flop framelits.  These are really cool cards and I showed the SU! video not too long ago on how to make these using the framelits and the NEW SU! MAGNETIC PLATFORM for the BIG SHOT.  It was great having Lisa demonstrate how these work together.  I love her card it's so cheerful and bright.  She used the NEW GINGHAM GARDEN dsp by SU!  Love it.

The card above was my take on Lisa's card.  I pretty much cased it exactly, although I may have colored my birds and the ribbon they are on a little differently.

When you open the card the circle flip flops so you can see the sentiment that I stamped.  The little taffeta ribbon is a nice added touch.

Here's a side view so you can see how this card works.  Lisa had us make this card a little longer than the standard card so that we would get an extra fold.  Very clever!

Jen Campbell, one of the SU! concept artists, created this beautiful card—and I loved it so much that I bought the supplies to make a few myself!

The ombre look is really “in,” and this card shows off this technique beautifully. Jen used the Butterfly Collection Jumbo Wheel with Blushing Bride, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pads to create the ombre effect.
Details, details . . . from the Vintage Faceted Designer Button and Tea Lace Paper Doilies to the Bitty Butterfly punched vellum, this card has the perfect accents to complete the feminine feel.
This card was originally created with a birthday in mind using the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set. But a dozen thoughts went through my mind—actually, the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set went through my mind—because this card would go beautifully with almost any of the sentiments in that set! 
This is the perfect card to make ahead and keep on hand with the sentiment ready to be added as needed.  And that is exactly what I plan to do. I hope you like this beautiful, feminine card as much as I do!  Enjoy!

HAPPY SWEET 16 TO MY NIECE GRACEANN

Graceann turns 16 today.  So sweet!  I hope you have a great day!  Here's the card I made for her and a scrapbook page!

I repurposed a card I received in a swap several years ago.  I loved the layout and the colors so much and thought that they would make a great card.  I added the chevron punch which just came out this year by SU!  And the silver glimmer on the punched pieces is silver dazzling details.  I also added it to the popped up banner with the Awesome sentiment.  Have a sweet 16th Birthday is a combination of a retired stamp set (sweet celebration) and a current set that I just love because I can do numbers for birthdays, anniversaries, and other events called Memorable Moments. 

 

The inside of the card is a non SU! stamp I picked up along the way.  Thinking about Graceann's Sweet 16, I can't help but think of my own.  When I was a sophomore in high school, sweet 16 parties were so much fun.  I think I was invited to at least 20, maybe more.  We did some cool things.  I remember at mine, I had some games for all of us to play and we got so involved, I never had time to open the gifts til the next day. I think every month there were 3 or 4 parties to go to.  What a special time to be a girl.

MORE STAMP CAMP - YOU KNOW HSIAO HUI LOVES HALLOWEEN

When we selected our projects for stamp camp at Cathy Weir's home, you could have bet money and won, that Hsiao hui would choose a Halloween theme for her project to share.  Oh, and it's adorable.  She chose to demo the POP 'N CUTS by SU! for the BIG SHOT.  She also used the NEW Halloween Designer Series Paper from the HOLIDAY HAPPINESS catalog by SU! as well as a BRAND NEW HALLOWEEN stamp set by SU! called HALLOWEEN HELLO.  This card is so cool.  Look at all the pop ups inside the card. 

Here's my version of Hsiao hui's card.  The first is the outside using the designer paper and a great idea by Hsiao hui to add real googly eyes to the outside. If you move the card, these eyes wobble!

Look at my inside.  There's a cool moon and witch and bat and look at all the pop ups. The haunted house is from the BEST OF SU! Halloween set that is currently available.

Here's a side view so you can see these haunted creatures pop up.  It's really cool to open and close the card and watch the haunted Halloween fun begin.

SU! MAGNIFICENT MAPLE - REMARKABLE STAMP OF THE MONTH TOUR

I'm thrilled to be participating again in the REMARKABLE STAMP OF THE MONTH TOUR.  We had a choice of two different stamp sets to present and I chose MAGNIFICENT MAPLE.  This is a great stamp.  I love the perfect size and I'm ready for AUTUMN. We have a lot of REMARKABLE team members sharing samples. Some will use the same set that I chose and others will be sharing HALLOWEEN BASH. 
 
The feature of my card is the MAGNIFICENT MAPLE which I stamped with a versamark pad on soft suede card stock.  I heat embossed with tangerine tango and wild wasabi embossing powder by SU!  Have you ever tried mixing your embossing powder or using more than one color?  The leaf is so detailed.  I combined this stamp with the stamp set TRULY GRATEFUL to stamp the background, the acorn and the sentiment.  The acorn and sentiment are also heat embossed.  I used early espresso embossing powder also by SU! You can emboss right onto the designer paper which I love to do.

I also added some of our new BURLAP RIBBON. Oh, this is great stuff.  The roll of ribbon is large and I think I'll have a lot of this to make all of my Autumn and Thanksgiving cards and also have some left over for Fall Crafting.  This is a great buy and a nice addition to the cards and projects.

The rustic look of burlap is all the rage these days! Easily add it to your projects with this burlap ribbon. 5 yards.

I love the background.  I had to purchase this stamp set mainly for the background.  Also note that I used BRAND NEW SU! DSP from the Holiday Catalog called SWEATER WEATHER  This paper is gorgeous.

Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper			#132184
Warm colors and texture-rich designs will make you want to wrap up in your favorite sweater and scarf for a little seasonal crafting. 12 sheets: 2 ea. of 6 double-sided designs. 12" x 12". Acid free, lignin free. Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Whisper White. For the inside of the card I had to try the BRAND NEW CHALK MARKER by SU!  Ok, I must tell you that this is a PEN you should definitely get.  It writes so smooth and it is definitely by far the BEST white marker on the market.

I also stamped the wheat from the truly grateful stamp set and I heat embossed the Happy Thanksgiving Label which is from the stamp set TAGS FOR YOU that coordinates with the punch Label Bracket.

By the way, the MAGNIFICENT MAPLE stamp comes in a BRAND NEW SU! plastic case.  We have new cases for all of our clear and wood mount stamps. These make it easy to store the stamps either on their backs or on their sides.  I like them on their sides so I can read the labels very easily in my studio cabinets, where I store them.
