MARIA'S SUMMER STAMP CAMP PROJECT 1 - TOP NOTE CUPBOARD

Saturday is Summer Stamp Camp at Cathy Weir's home in Street. We always have a lovely day and craft and eat and swim. Here is the first project that we are going to do. It is a cupboard made with drawers that really slide in and out. I first saw a similar cupboard when I went on the Hawaiian SU! Incentive Trip back in March. I modified the project by adding the daisies on the top and also by securing the sides and back with an extra strip of card stock so that the drawers slide in and out but don't fall out the back. The key to the project is the SU! Big Shot. I used the Top Note and Matchbox dies which are exclusive to SU! The card stock is cameo coral and summer sun for the top note and drawers. The designer paper is the awesome Pink Flamingo! I have to get a pack of that paper out and photograph all of the great papers in that pack. It is gorgeous and perfect for summer!

Each of the drawers has a clear rhinestone brad. I'm so glad that SU! is selling these in a container all by themselves. I use them so many times. You can pull each drawer out by pulling on the brad which is secured to each drawer!

The cupboard is neatly finished with a 1 and 3/4 inch strip of cameo card stock that is 9 and 3/4 inches long and scored at 2 and 3/4 on either side. Fold the strip around the entire cupboard but use adhesive only on the sides not the back. You don't want the drawers to not be able to come out. This project is fairly easy to make. You need 4 matchboxes total and 3 top notes. One of the top notes is made from designer paper. The daisies are also made with card stock - cameo coral, summer sun and tempting turquoise. This is another Big Shot die and it cuts out all 3 daisy sizes. The button in the middle is from the collection latte from SU!
I will be giving step by step instructions to the campers tomorrow so that they will be able to recreate this project really easily! I love my cupboard and would love to see what others come up with.

GREAT SUMMER DAY

My son and I took a walk a couple of blocks away this evening and when we got back I thought it would be good to water the flowers in the front of the yard. I forgot how much my son loves the water. He saw the sprinkler on and ran right for it. Here he is having lots of fun tonight getting wet. You can even see the water in the photo. He's since taken all of the wet clothes off and has left them out to dry. There's a nice breeze here in Baltimore and the sun is out even though it is almost 7:30 pm, so those clothes should be dry by am. I sent him straight to the showers so he is now clean, clean, clean!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA MURPHY

I was so excited to use some new stamps and in colors again today. This is the card and envelope I have sent to Linda Murphy. She is really great about sending everyone a birthday card so I wanted to get one to her. Her birthday is today. I used the new stamp set Razzle Dazzle and Teeny Tiny wishes. The card stock and ink are melon mambo and so is the ribbon. I used a large white grommet and also the brand new modern label punch! The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder.

It's Linda's birthday today and I want to wish her the happiest day ever!

On A Pedestal

This card uses the new SU! stamp set On A Pedestal. It is a fabulous set. You can put almost anything on this cake stand. The set is pretty inexpensive also - only $19.95 (#113814). I stamped the images on whisper white card stock using rich razzleberry ink. I added dazzling diamonds to the top of the cake for a nice shimmer. These images were placed on razzleberry lemonade dsp, which was backed by crushed curry card stock. I embossed birthday sentiments in white from the set on your birthday. The card base is rich razzleberry that I embossed with the Big Shot Texturz. I love this effect.

Just Another Day At Work

Sandi Haertig took this photo of Diana and I at the hospital today. The three of us are trying to get some walking in during the day. We started at the ER and walked all the way around the hospital. The three of us walked for almost 1/2 hour and then Sandi and I took a stroll around the campus for an additional 20 minutes. It feels so good to exercise. Plus we are all trying to lose weight. I have already lost almost 15 lbs. It sure feels good!

HAPPY MONDAY - HAPPY NEW HOME LINDA K.

I have been dying to try the new MOVER's and SHAKER's dies by BIG SHOT for SU! and my new SU! punch modern label. Something to note about these dies is that they compliment our SU! punches so they outline great. I love how this one makes a window and you can see the label punch underneath.
My card stock is crushed curry and I used always artichoke and melon mambo as complimentary ink colors. If you use the color finder at the bottom right of my blog you can find great colors that go together very well. The houses are from the neighborhood wheel and the And They Lived Happily Ever After sentiment is from the stamp set is Once Upon A Time. The ribbon is dotted melon mambo grosgrain. I colored the houses with stampinwrite markers and because I love glitter, I had to cover them with dazzling diamonds. This card is for my very good friend Linda K. who just settled on her new home in Bel Air.

Here on the inside, you can see the punched out modern label and the outline which I die cut from the modern label die mover and shaker. The outline is melon mambo card stock. The Congratulations comes from the stamp set Fun and Fast Notes, a very versatile stamp set and one that I tell all new stampers is a must have!
I just got an email that Linda liked her card and her son was so happy to see the new dog house right next door. They have been wanting a new dog for a long time and I hope that they
will get one. They watch Luigi for us and I know Luigi is going to be excited to see their new home next time he visits.
