REMARKABLE BLOG TOUR DAY 5

Wow, we are coming to the end of the REMARKABLE BLOG TOUR. But, don't worry, I still have lots to show you, so stay with me on this journey. I'm a pretty regular poster. Many of you know that I like to post almost every day - at least 4 to 5 times a week, if not every day. So there will be lots to see especially in the coming months when I'll be at the SU! Convention in SLC (lots of samples there and new announcements) and for the Fall Lineup of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. In fact, this group will be coming around again. Watch for us in late August, early September. In the meantime, stay right here for more NEW SU!Here is my post for REMARKABLE BLOG TOUR DAY 5. I tried to keep somewhat to a theme and chose For All You Do stamp set and of course the new in colors and razzleberry lemonade papers.
I used the same template as yesterday. My in colors are bermuda bay and melon mambo. Again, I used the scallop edge punch (last day at 30% off -watch for a new SU! deal of the week on my website tomorrow under promotions). The ribbon is the new dotted grosgrain in bermuda bay. The dsp is rich razzleberry (again, a whole different look and the best quality dsp out there). The get well wishes sentiment is from the new and very versatile stamp set teeny tiny wishes.

REMARKABLE BLOG TOUR DAY 4

I am really loving all of the samples on the Remarkable blog tour. Today is day 4 of the 5 day tour. We have some great samples so you can get great ideas and get excited about the new ideas and the new projects in the SU! IDEA BOOK for 2009-2010.

If you need a catalog, email me and I will send one out for cost of the book - my email is scrappinriri@verizon.net

Here is my sample for today. I sort of followed the template I used on the cards from Day 2. This one is also done with the For All You Do stamp set and the new IN COLORS.
I really love this butterfly.

My card base is crushed curry card stock. Next, I layered rich razzleberry cardstock and again if you look closely, I used the dotted stamp on the rich razzleberry to look textured. I used that same dotted stamp from the set on the butterfly. The I also used the scallop edge punch which is on sale only until tomorrow at 30% off for the edge. dsp is razzleberry lemonade. Aren't you excited about all the different patterns in this new dsp? The colors are really varied. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and the ribbon is the newdotted IN COLOR crushed curry grosgrain that I just turned over. How do you like that? One side solid and one side dotted. This really gives variety to the card. The flowers on the bottom are from the same set and they are stamped along with the thank you in the new IN COLOR melon mambo. Oh, and lastly, I did use the scallop circle punch by SU! and the scallop from the pendant die to layer, underneath the butterfly. These scallop circles really complement one another. I hope you like this card.

FILE IN THE MIDDLE CARD - BLOG TOUR DAY #3

I hope you are all enjoying this blog tour as much as I am. I am so proud of my team. They are all working to win the $50 NEW SU! IDEA BOOK gift certificate from my upline Janet Wakeland, who is leading the blog tour. I am giving $20 certificate if one of my team members wins! Yeah! So far Jen, Hsiao-hui, Carol and Celestine have entered and I am so excited. Carol was the first to submit her blog tour report. See the post below for the blog tour report and the scavenger hunt and then don't forget to cc me so I know you submitted. In addition, I will be awarding a prize to some lucky reader of my blog who enters. So lots at stake! So here is my submission for Blog Tour Day 3. It is called the File in the Middle card. My downline Katie Ford showed us how to make this card at class this past tuesday.

This is the outside of the card. I have used Razzleberry Lemonade as the designer paper on a card base of the new IN COLOR dusty durango. My stamp set here is my new For All You Do that I have featured in blog tour posts 1 and 2. I stamped the flowers just like I did in yesterday's post and added them to the stems that I stamped in always artichoke and cut out. I like to leave a little white showing as it helps to see the images better. I also used the scallop edge punch which is on special this week at 30% off.

This is why the card is called file in the middle. There is a divider on the inside that you can see at the top of this card. In this view you also get a better look at my flowers. I took the rhinestones out of the rhinestone brads by SU! and adhered them with glue dots. I also used a 2 way glue pen to put dazzling diamonds glitter on the flowers.

The way to make this card is to cut the cardstock lengthwise so that it measures 5.5 by 11.5

Score this cardstock at 4.25, 7.25, 10.25 inches Fold them so that you get the mtn. in the middle. Punch out a designer punch (I used the curvy label punch, Katie used the circle punch in her sample below) from the two sides that make the mtn. Next, adhere the mtn with sticky strip so it stays closed. Next stamp or place an image so that it can be seen on either side of the divider (see next image).

Do you see that I can flip the center divider so that you see an image on each side. By the way the ink colors for the flowers and other images are dusty durango and crushed curry.

This is the opposite side. The sentiments are also a part of the For All You Do stamp set.

Here is another sample of a file in the middle card using the new dsp Tall Tales and the stamp set Animal Stories.

The base card stock is old olive. The sentiment is from teeny tiny wishes another new stamp set and I used a rhinestone brad to balance the image on the front. The elephant is set on soft suede card stock.

The sentiments inside are from On Your Birthday and On A Pedestal. They are stamped in soft suede.

Now there is something funny about this card. Can you guess what? Well it is that my elephants inside the card, on either side of the file, are slanted. My upline Janet Wakeland wanted to know why I made them that way. I laughed to myself and told her they are standing up as if they are at the circus on the pedestal. I tried to make them stand straight but I started tearing them so I left them alone. So please imagine that they are standing on that pedestal.

Here is Katie's original version of the card. Now she is not the original designer, although I wish she was. She made this card herself but she learned about file in the middle card from another demo Dawn Griffith. You can see her original card on her blog.

By accident I deleted the card front from this post, so I am posting it below. Katie used the melon mambo card stock and razzleberry lemonade dsp. The images are from the new level 3 hostess set the More the Merrier and the cupcake set Crazy for Cupcakes.

I love these cards and can't wait to see more of them. Thanks Katie for teaching us how to do this card.

REMARKABLE BLOG TOUR DAY 2 - additional post

After all the great comments on this morning's card, I decided I better post this second card. I was going to save it for tomorrow, but I have some great cards for July 3rd. Yes, I said cards, so watch for them. This is another card with the For All You Do, stamp set. Again I used whisper white for the card base. The card stock is rich razzleberry. I used the same template for this card as the one I did below in dusty durango. The ribbon is rich razzleberry polka dot grosgrain, the ink is also rich razzleberry. I stamped the butterfly once in the ink pad, then stamped him again without going to the ink pad, and then one more time. This is how I got the lighter colors. I dimensionalized the butterflies and just adhered them with glue dots. The designer paper is razzleberry lemonade, which I am loving! The sentiment is from teeny tiny wishes.

I also used the scallop edge punch. Order it asap as it is now 30% off.

ok, see you tomorrow for my next post, remarkable blog tour day 3. In the meantime, go to the next post to link on over to Michelle's blog, next on the tour.

REMARKABLE BLOG TOUR DAY 2

I am really enjoying my new stamp set FOR ALL YOU DO! For this card I wanted to 3 dimensionalize the flowers and the butterfly. I used the new pack of razzleberry lemonade dsp and stamped on it. It is a really cool thing to stamp on your designer paper and I'm teaching my group that it can really add to the look of the paper. The other thing I did was to do the "rocking technique." This is a great way to get multicolor ink and shading on a stamped image. First ink your stamp in the lighter color then gently rock it in the darker color and then stamp. I rolled the leaves of the flowers a bit and the butterfly wings to dimensionalize the images. Also note that I used the dotted stamp from the stamp set on the dusty durango card stock just underneath the dsp. stamps: For all you do, Teeny Tiny Wishes
card stock: whisper white ultr smooth, dusty durango
ink: dusty durango and crushed curry classic ink; bermuda bay
other: dotted ribbon - dusty durango and crushed curry; scallop edge punch
on SALE this week as the DEAL OF THE WEEK!
