LOVE AND CARING FANCY FOLD CARD BY LINDA

Last night we had our first Easter Spring Card Class at my home.  It was amazing!  If you didn't get a chance to make it, there is still room at class next Thursday March 24th.  We've got some great cards planned.  At last night's class Linda taught us this wonderful fancy fold card that everyone loved....and as I sometimes say "was worth the price of admission!"  It's so beautiful.  Stampers and Crafters had their choice of making the card a sympathy card for which Linda Kincaid originally designed the card, or an  Easter or Spring card.  Also...Linda taught us how to paper pleat the designer paper and make this awesome pleated circle that went behind the design and she shared a new idea for the ribbon punch and the new taffeta ribbon!  The stamp set used is Thanks for Caring and it is in the Spring Occasions Mini catalog.  This stamp set is available through the end of April!  Saleabration, however, ends March 31st!

Here are some photos of the crafters making Linda's card.  In all, we made 5 cards.  There was to be 4 but we did a great bonus card and Lisa Chatterjee joined us for a great demo as well.

SYMPATHY CARD FOR MY SECRETARY

My secretary's mother in law passed away this week.  I made a card and wanted to be somewhat supportive with brighter colors.

I used the new Sweet Buttons embosslit (wow! these look like real buttons!) and the stamp set Thanks for Caring!    Because I was in a rush to get the card mailed, I took this photo with my iphone.  I'm happy it turned out as nice as it did.

And to celebrate...here are two brand new cards that I made using Brand New SU! stamp sets:

I love this one.  This is a modified CASE from the cover of the new Occasions Mini Catalog by SU!  The designer paper is delightful and totally vintage!  It is called First Edition.  You will certainly find great uses for this since Vintage is really "hot" these days! The bird and flowers and butterfly and bee are from the new set Nature Walk.  It's a wonderful set.  Enjoy is from the You're a Gem stamp set.

I altered the designer paper - Brand New Botanical Gazette - with stamps and inks.  The bird is the same bird used in the card above from Nature Walk.  The sympathy sentiment is from the new stamp set Thanks for Caring.  I borrowed it from my upline Jan Wakeland.  But...now that the mini is available January 4th, you can be sure I'll be ordering my own set.  Since SU! offers both wood mount and clear mount I have my choice of stamp type.  Clear Mount are less expensive and come in DVD style cases making it a lot easier to store.  I can also afford to buy every stamp in the catalog if I want.  I love that.
