SCENIC SEASON
This is one of the most gorgeous cards you can make for the Holiday Season. The ladies at the Christmas Card III class (both nights) loved this card the best!
We stamped the beautiful evergreens in garden green classic ink onto a vanilla top note. The top note was die cut from the Big Shot and the outer border was trimmed so that a chocolate chip top note could border it. Of course we added dazzling diamonds to the trees to make them sparkle and shine. The sentiment is from the same set scenic season and is stamped in chocolate chip classic ink. This is all mounted to the card base which is bravo burgundy card stock that has garden green designer paper attached to it. We stamped snowflakes using white craft ink onto the striped dsp. The snowflakes are from the stamp set serene snowflakes. The ribbon is my favorite ribbon - it is wide grosgrain ribbon that is striped. This one happens to be chocolate chip. If you head on over to my website you can get this ribbon in riding hood red on sale at a huge savings of only $1.99 for 10 yards. It is a great deal - otherwise the ribbon in other colors is $9.95! I think this card would look great with riding hood red as the base and the top note and it is is still a current color.
On the inside of the card, we stamped the sentiment from the stamp set and more serene snowflakes in white craft ink. The night of class we heat set the ink so that it would dry faster and not pass ink to the other side of the card as we finished it. The envelope is stamped with the trees stamped "off" once so that they are a lighter green. The serene snowflakes are stamped in bashful blue. I can't remember who had the original idea for this card. I actually got a variation of this card in a Christmas card swap at the SU! convention in SLC in 2009. I just modified the card and updated it for this year. It is really gorgeous and it is a card that I will be sending to some of my friends this year. And since it is about 2 months until Christmas, I'm glad I have most of my holiday cards completed. Only a few more designs to go. Watch for another Christmas Card Class coming soon!
Here are some photos from one of the classes:
I forgot to take photos of the class attendees on Tuesday as we were having so much fun, but these are some of the ladies from the Weds. class. Above you can see Lori in blue with the dazzling diamonds. Leslie is in green tying her ribbon on her card, and Dale in red working on last minute touches on hers. Marlene got stuck at the airport or she would have been here also. We missed you Marlene - catch you next time.
See you all at the next card class!
