A LOTUS BLOSSOMS BIRTHDAY CARD FOR PAT

Today is my friend and fellow crafter Pat Nuckel's birthday.  I used the SU! FREE SALEABRATION stamp set LOTUS BLOSSOM - one of my NEW FAVORITE SU! stamp sets - to create her card.  The base card is done in Melon Mambo and the ink colors I used for the blossoms were Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride.  You stamp the blossom with at least 2 but preferably 3 coordinating stamps and as you saw from the video the other day, they line up so easily.

Pat uses the word "sweet" a lot - has anyone else noticed?  And quite honestly, it's pretty sweet that she does.  I knew when I saw the stamp set with the sweet in it, I had to put it on Pat's card.  Also, notice some sequins on the front of the card and dazzling diamonds glitter.  Sequins are "hot" and "totally in" in the crafting world right now.

The coordinating colors are wild wasabi and garden green.  I used Memento Black Ink for the sentiment on the front and melon mambo for the sentiment inside.

QUICK AND EASY SU! TAGS and MY PAPER PUMPKIN SHAKER CARDS

This past Thursday we celebrated 2 friends in our small group's birthdays - Ellen and Kelly. I made tags for our drinks for them and also some cards.  I used NEW BIRTHDAY SET I earned FREE from SU! Saleabration.  I love making tags and used my SU! BIG SHOT and the Tags Framelits to make the tags.  Easy stamping using SU! Black MEMENTO ink and BLENDABILITIES.  Love these.  These color on everything!

 I also used the snowflake framelits for this one and a punch from my stash!

 Of course no tag is complete without SU! DAZZLING DIAMONDS Glitter!

And you can dress up any gift (or bottle) with a Tag and embellishments!

 Ribbon makes everything pretty, as does glitter!

MY FIRST LOTUS BLOSSOM STAMP CARD - LOVE THIS STAMP SET!

I have to have this set.  I really love the yarn and the knitting needles.  May need to get that for my sister Christina who knits and crochets.  I also really love the inspired to create and share with you because creating is a huge part of my life.  These images are just the coolest and really up to date.  They have the Stampin Up! logo on them but if you aren't selling your work, you could choose not to color that part or just cut it off the stamp. MDS MONDAY - FAMILY FUN NIGHT - CLUE

One of the great things about the holidays is that it's great family time.  We had an inspired idea at Christmas to play CLUE.  That continued over New Years and then into the following week.  Midterms are coming up so the game is on hold until the next break, but boy was it fun. We each won some games and I think JP and I are tied at 6 a piece. Bill may have only won once or twice.  This so reminds me of the holidays growing up. My dad would play board games with us all day and throughout the holiday break.  My favorite game back then was Monopoly.  What was yours?
