PRETTY PACKAGES TIED UP WITH STRINGS, THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE SU! THINGS!
Pretty Packages
I love
giving gifts in pretty packages! It is definitely one of my trademarks. I
love to present a gift to someone and watch their face light up when
they see how pretty the packaging is! It’s like another gift in and of
itself.
Christmas is the perfect time to create some pretty packages! I
decided to go with a Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, and Gold
color combo. Yes—that’s right! Mix your whites and creams! You can
achieve a layered look with your projects simply by using those two
colors together.
The Takeout Boxes are darling! They are the perfect size for a small gift or box of yummy treats. I used the White Filter Paper to create a belly band around the box. I scrunched it up and sewed it down the middle to keep it gathered. I added some interest to my star die cut by using the Eclectic Paper-Piercing Pack to outline a few stars within the shape. This is an easy way to add detail.
I used the Gift Card Enclosure Pack to create a little box. This technique was demonstrated to us at convention. Simply brilliant!! You score at 1/2" from the original score line along three sides. Secure the flaps using Sticky Strip and add a belly band to help contain your goodies. I used the Festive Designer Kraft Paper Rolls for my belly band. I LOVE these paper rolls! The quality is excellent—much thicker than I thought they would be.
My last pretty package was created using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Die. This die creates the perfect little enclosure for a gift card. I used the Kraft Cardstock for my base and then I began creating a pretty belly band using the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper to keep it closed. The belly band simply slides on and off.
I love using the Kraft color as a base for my projects—especially for pretty packages!

WELL HELLO DECEMBER! LET'S GET STARTED! WE CAN DO IT ALONGSIDE EACH OTHER
I just returned from a fabulous crafting weekend in Harrisburg, Pa with my upline Janet Wakeland and the REMARKABLE STAMPERS. We had a great time crafting and having fun. One of the projects I worked on was my family's Project Life Book. I got so many pages done. This kind of memory keeping is quick and easy and allows me to really be creative. I am going to take the challenge of documenting December with the SU! Project Life Kit and Book HELLO DECEMBER. Watch the video below and join me in documenting one of the most wonderful times of the year.

MDS MONDAY - DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
Each October we have A Day of Remembrance to honor families whose babies have not survived. There is an awesome service and sharing and music and a really beautiful butterfly launch. Everyone receives a butterfly that they let fly at the end of the day. The butterfly is such a beautiful symbol of life - especially renewed life. My butterfly didn't want to leave me.
I did a SU! MDS Digital Page with some of my iphone photos.

HONORING THOSE AFFECTED BY BREAST CANCER - BALTIMORE KOMEN RACE FOR THE CURE IS TODAY! MDS
Today is the Komen Race for the Cure in Hunt Valley (Baltimore, Maryland's location). There are so many affected by Breast Cancer including many dear friends of mine and many coworkers. Today I'm honoring my mother in law Connie, whom I never met because she passed away from Breast Cancer. I'm also honoring my dear friends Sandi and Mary Jo and my coworkers - Joan, Emily, Theresa, Nancy, Laurie K, Mamie and Suzanne and all affected in any way by this. Much love and admiration to all of these great heroes!
Here's my MDS page in which I pay tribute to some special people.

SPECIAL SU! CARD FOR A DEAR FRIEND
Does anyone remember these SU! stamps? They are some of my favorite older Stampin Up! stamps. I recently made this card for a friend. I also used the Ford Warrior Stamps made in honor of those affected by Breast Cancer. Tomorrow is the Komen Race for the Cure here in Baltimore. We have come a long way, but still have many miles to go.

TIME FOR THE SU! WEEKLY DEALS! GET THEM NOW! THANKFUL BANNER POST FROM THE SU! BLOG
Hi Stampers and Crafters!
I have a SU! order going in Sunday. Let me know what you need for your holiday crafting. Make sure you check out these great weekly deals from SU!
We hope you enjoy this week's Weekly Deals!
I’m not ashamed to be one of those people who are constantly saying, “I love this time of year!” because I really do! Summer is wonderful but there is just something about settling down for fall and filling our homes with the beautiful colors and delicious smells of this season.
We recently relocated to a new home in Texas and it has a lovely fireplace and mantle . . . so I’ve been slowly building our banner collection until I have one for every holiday! This means that I needed a Thanksgiving banner, so today I’m going to share with you the one that I made.
I knew I wanted to use the Build a Banner Simply Created Refill Kit, and can I just say that I was beyond excited when I saw this in the annual catalog? I really love this kit!
I started by using the Blackberry Bliss 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon and carefully formed each letter, pinning them down as I went. I used a single piece of ribbon to do the entire word, cutting it at the end and using a small piece to cross the “t.”
After I was satisfied with the letters, I started unpinning and securing them using Glue Dots.
Once I had completed this step, I added a few embellishments to dress my banner up a bit. I tied on some Autumn Wooden Elements using Linen Thread and added a few knots of Venetian Crochet Trim.
Finally, I used the For All Things Stamp Set along with my Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad to add a few faint images here and there by stamping directly onto the canvas.
I’m going to go and hang my banner now so that I can be reminded of all that there is to be thankful for this time of year!

WHAT WAS IN THE BAG? OC SCRAPBOOKING AND CRAFT RETREAT
I just wanted to share a SU! gift that I received from Rosemary Morgan at the Croppin By the Ocean retreat I went on last weekend. She did an amazing job with this first time ever retreat and I have to say it was one of the best I've ever been on. We spent 4 amazing days together. I really enjoyed meeting Rosemary's friends and crafting with them. We laughed and we shared and we had great fellowship. I will have lots more to show you, but I wanted to share the gift bag she gave each one of us at our tables (yes! we got an entire 8 ft long table to craft on and lots of space in the room looking out at the ocean).
Rosemary handcrafted these bags by stamping on them and embellishing them. Each gift bag had crafting tools and candies and an awesome ruler, pencil and sharpener and this adorable bag with cookie inside. The cookie is a pumpkin cheesecake cookie and incredibly delicious. I love the Christian Fall Blessings anagram she put on it. She used her Big Shot and a SU! die to die cut the leaves and acorn and the tag topper.
Rosemary, I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed meeting your ladies and I'm thrilled with how much I got done with my Project Life Scrapbooking as well as card making. I loved watching all the movies (I'm now a HUGE JESSE STONE fan! Thank you very much!!!! and I still have tears of joy over When Calls The Heart!!!), overlooking the ocean, running on the beach, walking the boardwalk, sharing margaritas, afternoon tea, and having a great time.
I can't wait to go back next year!

FALL FEST
From the SU! Blog:
First of all, here’s a card to show your gratitude. For the pumpkins, I used a rock and roll technique with three ink colors (Cajun Craze, Hello Honey, and Pumpkin Pie), then spritzed water on the stamp before stamping on Watercolor Paper. Then, I used the coordinating Framelits set to cut out each image. I used the same faux watercolor technique on the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. I can’t seem to get enough of this technique. It never looks the same twice and that’s what I love about it—it’s one of a kind!
Now, let’s get you ready for Halloween. Using the jack-o-lantern faces, I added a face to my little ghost using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the large White Filter Paper circle. (No cutting required!) I finished it off with a little bit of Basic Black Baker’s Twine—so simple and so cute. This would make a fun classroom treat.
The last project I made was inspired by my home. I love to decorate for the seasons and recently found some blue-green pumpkins that look great in my home. I added some gold accents to dress them up a bit. (I got the blue-green look through a combination of stamping off and rock and roll.) This one took a little bit of trial and error and it never turned out the same twice. Play around with some stamps, ink, and paper to see what you can create!
Enjoy!

Fall Fest!
I love when I can use a stamp set for more than one occasion. I thought I’d share some different ways to use Fall Fest throughout the fall season . . . and beyond!First of all, here’s a card to show your gratitude.
Enjoy!
