CARD AND GIFT FEATURING ARLEEN GRAHAM

Each day I will feature a different demonstrator's gift and card from our Holiday Gift/Card Exchange.  Today is Arleen Graham's day.  Arleen made a great card using My Digital Studio.  With MDS - you have the option to print yourself or to have SU! do it.  Arleen chose to print the outside of the card and layer it on card stock.  The inside is also MDS.
Here's the inside enlarged quite a bit.  Arleen personalized each card with a really sweet message for each recipient.
Above is a photo of my card Arleen made with both she and I.

I also wanted to show the gifts that Arleen made.  In this first photo, Arleen and Linda are pictured with Arleen's gifts.  Arleen had Linda for the exchange.
In this photo, Linda is wearing the scarf that Arleen made.  Arleen used a new technique called crochet-knit, which she promises to teach to all of us.

Arleen also made Linda a framed piece.  Arleen made this 3 dimensional frame from a SU! card board shipping box.  How cool is that?  She used spice cake papers from SU! which are really beautiful.  On the sly, Arleen received the photo of  Linda's boys from me so that she could put it in the frame.  The boys were photographed in Bar Harbor, Maine, and Arleen put that description in the Hodge Podge on front of the frame.

This photo has a bit of motion to it, but it's Linda in action wrapping her new scarf around her neck.  In 2 weeks we are going to NYC for a Holiday Extravaganza/Broadway trip and this is going to be a perfect addition to Linda's Holiday attire.

Although I have a cool video for tomorrow's post (make sure you see it), I'll be back with another demonstrator's gifts and card on Friday.

HOLIDAY DINNER - DEMONSTRATOR GIFT EXCHANGE

Our SU! demonstrator group - Stampin Sistah's - got together for our Holiday Dinner, Card and Gift Exchange last evening.  We had a great time eating lots of food, telling stories, enjoying every one's company.  We dined at a great Italian Restaurant not too far from where I live.  The food was great and there was plenty of it.  Only 6 of the 9 of us could make it. 2 of our friends were ill at the last moment and one needed to help out at her church.  This certainly gets to be a busy time of year at the holidays.
Since I'm now completely hooked on SU! My Digital Studio program - I can't seem to show a photo without putting it in a digital layout.  I used all SU! components.  The Holiday papers were perfect for this layout.

Pictured from front to back (left) Hsiao-hui Lin, Sandi Haertig, Linda Kincaid, (right) Cathy Weir, Maria Pane (me) and Arleen Graham.  Not present - Kathy Winland, Cindy Geskey, Lisa Chatterjee.

Coming soon - the homemade cards and gifts we exchanged.

COLORING SILVER GLIMMER PAPER

Did you know that you can dye our Silver Glimmer Paper and change the look?  I CASED this card from another demonstrator on the web (sorry, I don't remember from where I saw it).  The demonstrator said that you can take your aquapainter and paint the glimmer paper with our reinkers or with our classic ink pads.  I just had to try it.  I used Night of Navy ink on this first card and I really love the results.  So cool to be able to do this.  The sentiment is from Hand Penned Holidays stamp set from the SU! holiday mini catalog.  The presents on the envelope are from Jolly Bingo Bits.
On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment from Many Merry Messages.
The jingle bell is from Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set.

Here's another version of the same card using the sentiment from Four the Holidays.

And here is another inside card using another sentiment from Many Merry Messages.
These are some more of the cards made at the Holiday Card Class last week.  I also want to mention that the presents are placed on top of white ultrasmooth card stock that is embossed with the starburst embossing folder for SU! with the Big Shot and the package bow is the 3 in 1 daisy punch for SU!

Lastly, I want to show how the glimmer paper looks with melon mambo ink coloring.  I made this card using the same basic design just different colors.  The card stock is pink pirouette and the ink color is melon mambo.  The sentiment is another from the Hand Penned Holidays.

MERRY AND TYPE

This is a brand NEW SU! Christmas Stamp set for 2011 called Merry and Type.   We used this stamp set at the most recent holiday card class. The dsp is Letters to Santa from SU! and the card stock base is marina mist embossed with the SU! square lattice embossing folder and the Big Shot.

The card stock around the sentiment is soft suede and punched with our lace doily punch used as a border.  I love this effect.

Here's another version with another sentiment from the stamp set and the envelope stamped with ornaments from the set and watercolored using my SU! aquapainter and SU! classic inks.

And finally, here's a card that can be sent for the Jewish holidays.

This also uses dsp from the Letters to Santa collection.

CREATING WITH MDS - THANKSGIVING AT THE OUTBACK

I had some free time today to create with MDS and thought I would share our family outing at the OUTBACK.  It is our favorite restaurant to go to and our every other Thanksgiving tradition - the years I have to work the holiday.  We all get to have the meal we love and we really enjoy this time out as a family to be grateful for all that we have.  I used our Spice Cake designer digital papers and the Thanksgiving is from the stamp brush set Calendar Basic kit.

EVENING TEA WITH FRIENDS - MDS PAGE

Recently, I had the opportunity to go to evening tea with 3 of my very best friends - Lisa Chatterjee, Sandi Haertig, and Mary Jo Beksinski - at the Mistletoe Mart in Westminster, Md.  This is a wonderful craft show that they hold every year and my second time going.  The 4 of us had a really great time.  There are several rooms of crafts and lots of Christmas.  There is a great place to eat, lots of holiday goodies, and a tea room.  I took photos of our nice evening together enjoying some Christmas tea.  The pictures were placed in this digital layout created with My Digital Studio.  If you are interested in doing digital crafting, SU! currently has a great special on MDS EXPRESS with tons of FREE downloads. SNOWBUDDIES SNOWGLOBE CARD

I made this snowglobe card for our REMARKABLE Team Mtg in Virginia this past weekend.  This was one of the display board themes.  I stamped Scenic Season trees in the background and the snowbuddies snowman and birds in the forgeground.  I also embossed part of the globe with our SU! snowflakes embossing folder for the Big Shot and added dazzling diamonds glitter and our new SU! Mica flakes.  The snowman and birds are watercolored using our inks and aquapainter.  The silver is glimmer paper.  It's phenomenal!

This was a really fun card to make.

SCENIC SEASON CARD

At our holiday card making class this past week (held 2x - once in the afternoon and once in the evening) we made some really terrific holiday cards.  The other day I showed you the stockings card.  Today, I'd like to share with you this really elegant and peaceful card using SCENIC SEASON SU! stamp set.  We stamped the trees in always artichoke and the bird we made a cardinal by adding real red.  The whisper white card stock was torn and distressed a little.  Dazzling diamonds glitter was then added.  The sentiments are from the same stamp set.
